I opened the door to find the apartment darkened. Only lit by the sunset from the window.
"Hello?" I called out as I entered the home. I closed the door behind me, waiting for some notice of movement. I slid my shoes off and made way for the light switch when a single lamp turned on.
Startled in my stance, I turned toward it quickly, to find Hoseok sat in the big chair.
His head tilted down as he stroked something in his lap, "Where were you?"
"Where...Where was I? Well I was at my appointment. You know that."
"Appointment?" He dryly chuckles, "You went to go see that doctor again? Jeongguk, was it? You've been walking around here just fine...So why'd you go?"
"Because I needed to make sure everything was healing right, Hoseok-Why are you acting like this?"
"An appointment doesn't take 5 hours, Willow!" He raises his voice, "Stop lying to me!" He stands, charging over to me until I'm back into a wall, "You fucking him?!" He exclaims
"What-I-"
"Are you fucking him?!"
"Hoseok no! How could you even-"
He hand moved so quickly, he pressed his switchblade to my throat, "Don't lie to me, Willow."
My eyes widened from fear and shock, he'd never acted like this before. "Hobi..." I said softly, swallowing the lump in my throat, "Hobi I just went for an appointment...baby that's all..."
His eyes softened before he back away, his head hanging low. "Get out of my face." He said
Quickly I scurried from him and into our bedroom. I closed the door and pressed my back against it, sliding slowly to the floor. I didn't cry, was in too much of shock to do so.
Instead I pulled out my phone,
"Hello?"
"H-Hello? It's Willow" I said shakily
"Oh Willow, how are you dear? You sound so low."
"F-Fine...Mrs. Jung...Something's wrong with Hoseok..."
The line went silent, just as I was about to speak again,
"What was that, Willow? You wanted to meet for coffee? Why don't we meet somewhere in the middle? Say, Sejong?"
"Yes...Coffee sounds wonderful." I sighed
"12:30 tomorrow, don't be late." She said before abruptly ending the call.
I'd heard the front door close and released a breath, calming myself for the few hours of peace that I'd have.
He'd come back later, drunk and discombobulated...apologizing for all that he's done. It was coming and I knew it was.
