Chapter 15 - Party?

'I don't think this is a good fit for the masquerade ball' sighed Jeonghan staring at his reflection in the mirror.

The evening was near, the sun was about to set, but he still wasn't ready for the party at all. He emptied his wardrobe and threw everything he found on his bed to see what he should wear, but unfortunately, since he spent his whole life in Gothel's castle, he didn't have any formal clothes or anything elegant he could wear to a masquerade ball.

Currently he was wearing a simple shirt and pants as he was standing in front of the mirror with a big frown on his face.

'I won't fit in! How would I even fit in... maybe it's not even a good idea to go' he started backing out, his confident self, who even kissed the mystery boy's cheek that day, long gone. Dino and Jisoo gasped.

'Oh nonono you're so going to this party!' exclaimed Dino. 'We are escaping tonight, remember? And you need to tell handsome mystery man what's going on!'

'Yes, and then he will declare his undying love for you and you kiss in the moonlight and live happily ever after!' finished Jisoo.

'That's an option too' shrugged the baby dragon.

'But what should I do now? I can't just make a suit out of nowhere!' sighed Jeonghan, then he realized what he just said. 'Wait. I can!' his eyes lit up and he reached for the magic paintbrush.

'Oooh, I like where this is going' said Dino grinning.

Jeonghan wasn't sure where he should start it so he simply stepped to the wall and touched the brush to the surface. He made a few brushstrokes while imagining himself a suit he thought would look good. It slowly appeared in front of their eyes. It was beige colored and had a lilac tie to it.

'Woah! That looks gorgeous! You should try it on!' said Jisoo.

'But how?' wondered Jeonghan.

'Well, based on what we know already you might just walk into the painting again' suggested the bunny.

Jeonghan inhaled deeply and slowly started walking towards the wall. He could walk into the painting just as easily as he did with the previous paintings, and he felt the familiar feeling he always felt whenever he did so. He continued walking forward, not knowing what to expect. After a few steps, he ended up walking back into his room without even turning around. He heard Jisoo and Dino gasp and he looked down on himself.

He was wearing the suit he just painted. It looked like if it was made just for him, it hugged his body perfectly and its color fit him just well.

'Holy Jisoos' whispered Dino. 'You look absolutely stunning!'

Jeonghan turned towards the mirror and smiled at himself. Now that's better.

'Perfect' he giggled. 'I'll just brush my hair and I think I'm ready!'

'Really? And who heard about a masquerade ball without mask?' asked suddenly Jisoo, followed by Dino's clapping. Jeonghan looked at the bunny and gasped when he saw a lilac colored sparkly mask that covers only its owner's eyes. He crouched down to the bunny.

'You guys made this for me?' he asked touched as he picked up the mask.

'Well... it's your first party outside after all and we wanted to surprise you' said Jisoo shyly. Jeonghan grinned and hugged the bunny.

They were so busy planning the evening that they didn't even see Otto, the weasel, silently sneaking into the room and taking the rolled up invitation between his teeth.

'THAT CAN'T BE!!' shouted Gothel fuming and she slammed her hand on the table, making the perfume bottles and makeup products fall on the ground from the impact. She was looking down at the invitation fuming while Otto was just grinning to himself satisfied.

'I thought my plans can't fail after so many years! He just had to meet HIM out of all people?!' ran her fingers through her grayish hair Gothel angrily.

'Who else?' said Otto.

'That's why he wouldn't tell me his name. It was Choi Seungcheol all along. Now I understand' said Gothel while walking back and forth in her room, then stopped in front of the mirror again. 'But I'm not going to let a young lovesick fool mess up my plans!' she mumbled staring at her reflection. 'Both of them need to learn their lessons. Jeonghan probably wants to escape with Seungcheol tonight... too bad they won't be able to do it.'

'All of them have to pay' said Otto, fueling the fire.

'Obviously. It might cost a lot more than we'd expect, but I'm always ready to make sacrifices. Especially if it's about people who did those things to me' snorted Gothel.

'So... how do you feel now?' asked Otto. Gothel thought for a second.

'I feel a bit of pity for them. What a shame that two lovers' beautiful story has to come to such an end... but you can't always get happy endings. They are going to learn a lesson they will never forget' grinned the witch.
