"Professor Zhang, you're here," a tall figure dressed in a clean white coat said with a smile, welcoming the other in. Zhang Hao grinned back and bowed entering the room with Gyuvin, muttering an apology for being slightly late due to surgery.

"These are the new interns I was talking about," Jiwoong, an associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery, introduced the students who stood in a line awkwardly with polite hands. "Good morning professors, I'm Seok Matthew!" The black-haired boy enthusiastically bowed. "Hello, I'm Sung Hanbin," A taller, rather cheerful boy with smiley eyes that resembled a cat and a wide smile greeted warmly. The others in the room nodded and replied with a warm grin.

"Professor Kim, you have some out-patients to attend to—ah! Hello professors," Ricky, a resident, entered the room but bowed politely upon seeing the others.

"Ah, right. I have to get going now, take care of them well okay? Don't scare them off, especially you Hao," Jiwoong joked as he hastily steps out of the room with Ricky.

Zhang Hao was known as one of the scariest professors—he can be strict and fierce with interns at times, but he is caring and means well to them as well.

"I'm Professor Zhang Hao, in charge of neurosurgery. Hopefully, you'll have a fruitful time to help you decide on your desired department." He bowed as he spoke formally and seriously, making the newbies tense up.

"Nice to meet you med students, I'm Professor Kim Taerae, general surgery. And Gunwook," Taerae said as he gestured towards another resident, Gunwook.

Taerae on the other hand was known as an "angel," who is open and friendly towards all patients with his warm smile and laughter—especially kids though he wasn't in charge of pediatrics.

Zhang Hao, rather was quoted as the opposite—it was said that whoever was under him would have hell during their residency.

"I'm Gyuvin! Nice to meet you!" He broke a welcoming smile. "You should consider neurosurgery...it's really cool!" He silently whispered to the interns. Zhang Hao smacked his back, "Gyuvin-ah, don't pressure them!" Gyuvin pouted as he tries to reach for his back to soothe the pain.

"Anyway, let's get moving shall we?" Zhang Hao said with a smile to the interns. Hanbin thought he might not be as bad as others might think.

"We have to brief Kim Eun-Gyeol for her surgery in 234 and check up for Lee Wookyung in 237," Zhang Hao said, tone all serious—different from the warm welcome earlier. "Don't be late, we're on a break right now." He continued typing on the computer and once he was done, stood up and stretched out his arms.

His eyes then met the interns. Looking at how the two interns were looking down, hunched back with hands together politely, it seemed like they were intimidated.

He broke a warm smile upon the sight and patted their backs. "You'll get used to it. If you need any help, I'm here. Here's my card, go down and get some coffee with Gyuvin, it's probably going to be a long day for you guys later." They nodded as Gyuvin left with them to the cafeteria downstairs.

"Ah, Professor Zhang! Do you want your usual? I'll bring it up for you," Gyuvin asked. The older nodded, "I'll be down in a sec. Gotta discuss something with Jiwoong," Hanbin found himself staring at Zhang Hao who was walking busily by the corridors. He's so...handsome. His coat swayed by his sides with the wind while his hair comfortably blew back as he speed-walked. When will it be my turn to be such a brilliant doctor like him? Is it weird to think that? Probably not, right? Hanbin shook his head, erasing the thoughts away.

"So guys, why did you guys study medicine? It's such a pain in the ass you know? Studying this, studying that," Gyuvin asked as he sipped on his ice americano.

"I don't know, to be honest, I found medicine really interesting and gave it a shot. Somehow did really well in school and ended up here," Matthew said.

"How about our Hanbine?" Gyuvin chimed.

"For me, when I was young, I saw a really passionate doctor that took care of my mother before she passed. And when she did, he bawled his eyes and cried a lot, apologizing to young me that he couldn't save her," Hanbin said as he sipped on his vanilla latte, not showing any expression on his face.

"I'm sorry Hanbin-ya," Gyuvin rubbed his back with a guilty face.

"It's fine, I'm okay now. I think the doctor was an intern or resident at that time. I want to find him and thank him sincerely, for taking care of my mom. Since the young me couldn't do that properly. I even threw tantrums every day in the hospital at him, turns out he wasn't even in charge of my mother but still took care of her," he chuckled sadly.

Gyuvin smiled but it faded once he thought of something. "Oh, I forgot about Professor Zhang's vanilla latte! He has the same taste as you Hanbin! Vanilla latte!" Gyuvin winked as he very visibly hinted at something that Hanbin couldn't comprehend. It was just a habit of his to tease others. "I just thought you seemed like his type," he whispered before he left.

Speak of the devil, the Professor Zhang arrived. "Gyuvin hasn't bought mine yet? That teddy bear only knows how to be a social butterfly and spend my money away," he shook his head as he joked with the interns. They greeted him and sat down together. "So, do you guys have any questions before we go for rounds later?"

Matthew broke the silence with curiousness beaming out of his eyes, "Professor Zhang, why did you apply for the medical field? Or neurosurgery to be exact?" At the same time, Gyuvin came back with his drink. "Sorry Prof.! I almost forgot your drink!" He laughed at the younger and gestured for him to sit.

"Well, both my parents were doctors so I didn't really have a choice. And somehow, I liked studying and this field had many studying to be done, and it's something I'm interested in, so yeah." He sipped his drink.

"He's really kind and patient to his patients despite the fact that he can be abit cranky sometimes! Even many nurses have crushes on him!" the resident chuckled sneakily. He earned another smack on the back. "Mr. Resident Kim Gyuvin you've gotten really bold these days haven't you?" This somehow relaxed the tensed interns and made them laugh, making them more comfortable around them.

Matthew whispered to Hanbin, "Bro, stop staring already." Hanbin snapped back to reality as he realized he was looking at Zhang Hao. His nose, eyes, lips, hair, everything. It was so admirable to the younger. It seemed so familiar, yet Hanbin couldn't make out what it was. His facial features reminded him of something he saw when he was younger—no, it can't be he was probably just imagining things.
