It was literally three in the morning. I was exhausted because the last time I hadn't slept since the previous night. I'd been awake for over 24 hours. My parents had told me I wasn't allowed to sleep because we had to get to the airport early.
It was a 2 hour drive. We finally got to the airport. We got all our luggage out. We'd only brought carry-ons. Enough for all four of us. We went through security and sat at our gate. We waited an hour or two before we got on the plane. We sat down and I was nervous. I'd never been in a plane before. Never in the air. I didn't know what to expect.
Before long we took off. I didn't sleep, though I was very tired. I mean, I couldn't. I was going to see the place I've only dreamed of seeing since I was a kid, and even better, I was going there to meet my favorite YouTubers. My role models. Rhett and Link. It seemed too good to be true.
We flew across the country. It was a 5 hour flight. Seeing the country was beautiful. All the desert. All the cities. We landed in San Fransisco. We had to get to another gate. Once we got there, we sat for an hour. My mom bought a snack from a vending machine. We all shared it. We then got on the plane.
I looked out my window. We were next to a double decker plane. We even watched it take off. After we took off, I was more comfortable being in the air, so I took a nap. The pilot said it'd be an hour flight, so why not? I slept. I woke up and looked out my window. We were flying over LA. We were coming in for a landing.
"How long was I asleep?" I asked my mom.
"Oh. Five minutes?" She replied.
"Mom. It was an hour flight. We're coming in for a landing. Theres no way I was asleep for only five minutes." I said back.
We both laughed as we finally landed. We all took down our carry-on luggage and left the plane. We went outside to wait for a bus to take us to a car rental place. The California weather was amazing. Way better than where I live. It wasn't humid and it was room temperature. It was perfect.
We got on the bus. We were the only English family there. We finally got to the car rental place. We got a car and went to the closest Wal-Mart. We bought groceries. We were staying there for over a week after all.
Soon after shopping, we got to our hotel. We checked in and I flopped down on the bed. I'd only slept an hour in the past two days. I went to sleep.

I woke up to the sound of what I thought was gunshots. My dad looked outside.
"It's just fireworks." He said to my family.
We did have a hotel next to DisneyLand. We'd forgot they shot off fire works every night.
After figuring out all was okay, we all went to sleep.
