School had ended and I was headed to the track in the school. I did every Thursday as well as the weekends and Tuesday. Normally for track practice but track is over so I am just keeping up. Tomorrow is my seventeenth birthday and that means I won’t be able to run the track a lot this weekend with our plans.
Soon I walked up to my smiling friend Thomas. He is Irish he moved to England a few years back. His short red hair went just with his brilliant green eyes.
“Hello Cassandra,” he smiled to me.
“Hi love,” I stated going to the beginning of the track him right next to me.
“Want to race?” he smirked to me as he asked that.
“You know I do,” I laughed at this while throwing my long black hair into a hair band.
“Alright 3…. 2…. 1!” Thomas shouted and we both took off.
I was laughing at this a bit ahead of him though I knew he would catch up soon. He always did so but I would end up winning the race I always was faster than him actually quite faster than any of the track runners.
~~~
We ran for about an hour until we finally finished up. It was always an hour or two.
“I’m going to go change, talk to you tomorrow,” I smiled and gave a wave walking into the locker rooms.
My breathing was still heavy from running when I looked in the mirror. My grey eyes looked wild and excited, my pale skin was sticky and wet, and parts of my black hair were sticking to my face and neck. I am on the tall side around five nine. That’s the thing I look nothing like my family all the rest are brown hair with brown or green eyes and are always tan. Though I never am.
I sighed and pulled out my hair band while walking to the showers. Stripping off my clothes I stepped in the shower, relaxing as my muscles became not as tense as they were. After the shower I felt instantly clean and wrapped a towel around my self, going to my bag in which had my clothes in it.
Soon I had on my dark blue skinny jeans with a black t-shirt and my converse. I walked out swinging my dark purple bag onto my back though only holding one strap. I walked home always I didn’t like being in cars or buses I normally got uncomfortable but I would if I needed to. I came to my house at this time, it wasn’t very big because it was just my parents and I though it was near a beach so I was happy with it. When I walked into the house I stopped for a moment I didn’t get greeted as normal.
“Mum?” I called turning the corner, silence. “Dad?” There was silence once again.
I figured that they were just out and walked into the kitchen seeing a note I nodded slightly.
Cassandra, we went out to get a few things for supper. I hope you are alright with being alone for about an hour, we’ll be home soon.
I nodded and put it down going up to my room. I took my track clothes and put them in a basket going to my bed. I was rarely home so my room was normally clean.
After finishing up some of the work I still had from school I sighed, laying back onto my bed. Not noticing I drifted into a sleep.
