Faster, faster,  don't turn back! I kept saying it to myself. Pitch black, late at night, so I couldn't see it. Don't know what it was, but the next thing I knew I was lying on the ground, a huge scar down my face, blood dripping. I got up. I couldn't see anything. I kept walking till i turned a corner, and saw a light further ahead. I ran to it. I stopped at a road. The light was the other side. It was next to something. On a corner, just stood there. But there was something strange about it. I could make out that it was a pub, named 'Darkened Corner'. Peculiar name for a pub. Lights flickered on and off. I stood there and stared. It began to rain. Heavier and heavier. I crossed then cobbled street. I looked up at the door. It was black with a golden handle. I turned the handle. The door creaked. I stepped inside. There were a few people sat around tables. I walked towards the bar and sat on a stall.

I looked at the person next to me, "Terrible weather we're having, am i right?"

He said nothing; didn't even move. His arms were just resting on the table.

"Hello? Can you hear me?" I loudly asked.

He turned his head, and stared blankly at me. But didn't speak. I felt his wrist for a pulse. His hand was freezing, rock hard, but I felt a slow steady pulse.

"He won't speak". I turned and saw a bar tender. He was fairly short and was quite skinny. He looked around 19. He had dark brown hair and sea blue eyes. His skin was slightly tanned and he had a few spots. He was wearing a black and white checked top, black trousers, and ontop, a green and orange apron. He spoke with a cornish accent, and quite high pitched.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked.

"I don't know", he said, "he's been there as long as I can remember, although i don't remember much, infact.... Ahhhhh! Anywho, who wants to hear an old man's story. So what you been doing with yourself, you must've come from that storm, your soaking"

"I don't know. I actually can't remember. I sat down and.... now i'm talking to you.."

"Ahhh yes, thats right, I saw you come in and, well actually, I don't remember. But now we're talking and... what did you just say?"

"I don't know..."

"Oh!" He turned away and carried on cleaning.

I stood up. "See ya' then"

The bar tender turned and looked at me, "Sorry... have we met?"

"I don't... know"

"Ok... what did you say?"

"Don't know, but i'm sure I was about to leave"

"Well, see you soon then"

"Bye" I said, feeling extremely confused.
