Fire: merlin fanfic

A regular day

 Merlin tried to pull Arthur out of bed but he couldn't, I really need to start feeding him less sausage he thought to himself. so instead he yelled in his ear , "RISE AND SHINE PRAT!!" Merlin made sure to say it nice and loud so the prat would hear it, he may be very alert at times but I swear to god  he can sleep through anything.

Arthur woke with a fright and reached for his sword to kill whatever "threat" awoke him. luckily Merlin moved it away because trust me, he learned his lesson last time he did that to him. 

Arthurs eyes scanned the room until they fell upon Merlin with a stupid grin on his face, "Merlin what the hell is wrong with you? honestly I thought you learned your lesson last time you woke me like that! what am I talking about, idiots like you never learn your lesson" he made sure to emphasize  the idiots like you part. 

merlin rolled his eyes as he responded, "ah... yes and prats like you never know how to appreciate anything anyone does for you!"

he looked at merlin with pure annoyance and merlin  knew exactly what he was going to say so he said it all with him, "shut up Merlin!."

 Merlin walked over to Arthurs dresser and picked up his dirty laundry to clean, then headed to the door.  "oh yeah, merlin!" Merlin  turned around with a grin on his face only to see  Arthur throw a cup at his head. Merlin ducked just in time. "you throw like a girl!" Arthur reached for another hard object but he was out the door before he could throw it at merlin, as he ran down the hall all he heard was Arthur yell out in frustration "Merlin!!!!!"

Merlin and Gwen set out all the cups and plates for the huge meeting with King Myan, they were finally going to sign a peace treaty.

Gwen watched Merlin as he put the plates in the wrong spots, Gwen could see blue rings under Merlin's eyes.

"uh... Merlin are you alright?" Merlin looked up with dreary smile "yeah im fine," although it wasn't true he was so tired he thought he was going to fall asleep any moment.

"Are you sure Merlin? You look absolutely exhausted..... has Arthur overworked you again?" she raised her eyebrow as she said this.

"Gwen, honestly im fine. really, don't worry about me." Merlin grinned at Gwen.

"uh... no Merlin your not! go take a nap or something ill just ask one of the other maids to help, and maybe they'll put the plates in the right spot!"

Gwen had her mother voice on and you can never, ever say no to Gwen when she's like this. Merlin looked down at his terrible job with the plates and decided it was a good idea. after all he need to be fresh for tonight you never know what could happen.

"Maybe your right, but make sure to wake me or something so I wont be late serving Arthur and Myan, okay Gwen?" Gwen smiled at her best friend.

"of course Merlin."

Merlin made his way up the stairs and into his chambers. he took off his shoes and his jacket and slipped into bed slowly drifting off into a restless sleep unaware of whats going to happen next.
