Protectors - TMNT

Chapter 7

The years passed by quickly for the family of mutants, the Turtles and Raelynn were now 17 and their fates had finally caught up to them. Their mastery of martial arts had brought a sense of justice into their morals and the young 5 mutants grew restless with the emergence of gangs, such as the Foot Clan and the Purple Dragons.

Much to their dismay and annoyance, Splinter -their father and Sensei- would not let them above ground to help defend their city. However, with 5 teenage mutant ninjas, if it was one thing they knew what to do, it was sneaking around. That is where our little group is now ~

"MOVE IT OR LOSE IT, PEOPLE!" an older Raelynn yelled in glee as she sped past her brothers in the tunnel, her face alit in a smile.

The boys all looked at each other in confusion, before Mikey took off after her cheering "WAIT FOR ME!" Raphael, Leonardo, and Donatello just shrugged with a smile before they too started running after Mikey and Raelynn.

The five teenagers were a little over a mile away from the Lair, running down a sewer tunnel that let out to the Hudson River.

"Cheater!" Raph yelled at Rae, accusing her for her false start but all Rae did was look over her shoulder and poke her tongue out, "Complainer!"

Raph growled with a grin before he pushed his legs harder and started to gain on her slowly. He zeroed in on her, and after a minute he was almost within reach... 'just a little closer!'

"Raph, slow down!" Leo yelled from behind them, but all Raph could do was roll his eyes, "Shut it, Splinter Jr!" But before Raph could see just where they were, Raelynn made a skidding halt and side step. He couldn't time his movements with hers and he finally looked forward to see an Sewer Iron gate fast approaching. "Woah, woah, WOAH-" 

*DIIIING* 

Raphael hit the thick iron gate full force and face first, making a metallic ring echo down the tunnel. The heavy gate inched open with a ringing screech of the metal against concrete. Raph thudded to the ground, curling into a pained groaning ball. 

The others circled around him, looking down at him. Each of them had varied levels of amusement as they stared at their stubborn, hot-headed brother. But as for Raelynn and Mikey, their amusement was certainly the most as they peered over Raph with mischievous smirks before fist-bumping each other. 

Leo sighed before giving a small smile, "I bet you wish you listened to Splinter Jr now, huh Raph?" All Raph could give back was a growl/groan mix. Leo shook his head before reaching down and picking Raph up, steadying him on his feet. 

Donnie stepped around his rowdy bunch of a family before digging reaching around to his shell and pulling off his bag. He rummaged in it for a minute before pulling out Excedrin: Extra Strength Headache and getting two pills. He tossed them to Leo, who was ready and waiting, who caught them and presented them to Raph. 

Raph snatched the medicine from Leo with a grumble before nocking them back and swallowing quickly. Raph pushed Leo away from him, his eyes blazing as he looked for his target. He spotted her not far from him on the small beach already, laughing alongside Mikey with tears in their eyes. "You!" Raphael growled. 

He took an unsteady step towards them, almost falling again out of the tunnel, but he steadied himself and started to stomp over to her. 

Donnie and Leo stood off to the side with humored smiles, "He never gives up." Leo stated, all Donnie could give was a nod in exasperated agreement.

Once Raph made it to Raelynn and Mikey, he shoved his finger directly in her face accusingly, "You are a dirty, dirty cheat! You did that on purpose!"
