Several tense minutes passed before the heart monitors sped up, the beeping became more insistent, and then, as if their names were Lazarus, the caged mutants sprung to life.
April and Vern watched in fascination as each of the three brothers gasped for air and their muscles tensed up, sweat dripping off their brows.
The adrenaline had finally kicked in.
It was as if electricity flew through their systems, except instead of harming them, it was helping them and aiding them in their recovery.
Vern, dumbfounded, said slowly "It's working."
The heart rate monitor's rapid beeping became a constant sound, the beeps blurring into each other. Donnie broke his restraints. Leo tore his restraints. Mikey braced for his exit.
"I think we should move..." April breathed out, Vern's eyes widened at the realization of possibly being crushed by overly excited turtles, and quickly yanked the back of April's shirt and took several quick steps away from the glass containers.
Mikey escaped first, performing his signature flip with practiced ease. Leo followed his lead, kicking and breaking his containment first and then jumping out. Donnie -pumped full of adrenaline- acted on his excitement and performed a flip out of his containment unit.
"OHHH I FEEL GOOD! I FEEL REALLY GOOD! WOW! I FEEL LIKE RUNNING!" Mikey was always a handful, but now he was a handful pumped full of drugged adrenaline. Mikey was already bouncing up and down, getting into his brother's faces with his excitement.
Donnie was already nose deep in his virtual computer and was excitedly watching the heart monitors, health system monitors, and health bar rejuvenation. "THIS IS AWESOME!" He squeaked out excitedly. "HA HA, THIS IS AWESOME!"
Leo wasn't much better, "I feel like cleaning! W-who wants to clean the dojo?!" Leo didn't allow anyone to answer before he answered his own question, "I'LL CLEAN THE DOJO!" He exclaimed excitedly, pointing to himself with a proud smile on his face.
Mikey -literally- ran circles around the other two brothers. "Let's run! I feel like running! LET'S GO FOR A RUN, GUYS!"
Donnie was the first to get his drugged-up mind on track, "Endorphins! Endorphins!" He turned towards the railing and charged.
Leo followed him, his mind catching up to him and remembering in a second what he witnessed while they were locked up, "We gotta go get Ro and Raph!"
Cue all 3 turtles, masters at Mixed martial arts and discipline, charging toward a railing... and running straight into it. The railing gave under the brute force of three 400-600 lb mutant turtles charging it, and all three ungracefully flopped to the 1st floor. "Aah! Oh no!" they yelled out in surprise.
They sprung up like daisies.
"RAPH! RAE! RAPH! RAE!" they all shouted simultaneously, sprinting towards their fallen comrades. Raphael was beginning to pick himself back up off the ground, and Rae -who was seeing stars- was trying to figure out if she could spot the Big Dipper.
The three hurried over to Raph first, he was closest to them, his vision became bombarded with green feet running around him and the voices of concerned brothers, "ARE YA DEAD?! ARE YOU OKAY!? ARE YA DEAD!?" Raph groaned, giving one final push with his arms and he was standing. He swatted them away from him, "WE NEED TO GO RIGHT NOW!" Mikey shouted.
Raph groaned, "Go where?"
Before he got an answer the others rushed over to Rae, who was slowly starting to sit up herself. Donnie reached her first, he skidded in front of her and reached out his hand, and she gladly took it. He hurriedly lifted her up, giving her a head rush and she wobbled. Donnie swiped on his goggles to examine her quickly, "Definitely signs of a concussion, how many times have you passed out today!?"
