Just Another Day In The Woods

I wake up hearing a knock at the door I dread my way there opening it seeing my recently obtained friends they see me clearly not ready

Julie:Uh Eric you were supposed to be ready

Eric:yeah yeah just give me a minute

The walk in as I walk back to my bedroom undressing from my bedclothes getting into my camping clothes that being sweatpants a jacket and short sleeve shirt I grab my Bowie knife and sheath it under my jacket walking out everybody is talking

Aaron:alright let's go

Aaron the stereotypical outdoorsy guy loves nature and loves camping this is the first time anyone has gotten me to go camping we get in his truck

Tom:this is going to be great we all get to hang out in the dark and tell scary stories

Tom the horror guy and the stoner he could recite any horror series at the drop of a hat

Hannah:we got the snacks right

Julie:of course I made sure to pack them

Hannah and Julie best friends and polar opposites Julie is dating Aaron and Hannah is dating nobody Julie is kind Hannah is kinda stuck-up but only to other people Julie is serious when things get bad Hannah will lose her mind

Aaron:Let's get some music on

He turns on the radio as we drive out of the city

3 hour time skip

We all get out of the truck and begin to grab our things Aaron grabbing his shotgun

Aaron:Welcome to the middle of nowhere

Eric:I don't get your excitement there is nothing out here

Hannah:Come on lighten up

We walk into the woods

I peer through the trees spotting my meal as the sun begins to set I see them as they walk the trail until I see one staying back a bit he catches my eye he is in a slumped walking position seeming upset with his surroundings his slumped posture makes him appear small like prey but my feelings change from hunger to something else as I look at this prey

Female human:come on Eric we aren't going to wait for you

She says in a aggravated tone my claws tear into the tree but soften once I hear something

Eric:Yeah ok

Eric POV

We walk the path getting deeper into the woods everyone else talks while I listen to music and look around but something catches my eyes couldn't see it but it was there in the back of the trees a black figure stood tall this makes me see something else holes in the trees four large holes along with scratches it look like a bear did it like in those documentary's but I've never seen holes I look to see I've fallen behind running to catch up but in the corner of my eyes I see it again that black figure looking at it I trip and fall on my face looking down I see I slipped my foot into two tree roots knotted together

Eric:hey Aaron Julie guys need some help

They turn around to see me stuck I sheepishly smile

Time skip 1 hour

The day gets dark as we finish setting camp I sit in a chair as Aaron tries to set up the fire

We all sit by the fire Aaron cooks burgers we make s'mores drink some beer then Tom had a great idea
