Today my mom came to the hospital and checked me out for the night. I was to return by midnight. Did this have anything to do with why Doctor Wilson kept her this morning?

The drive home was longer than I remember. It took 40 minutes, and it was dark and rainy out so I didn't even get to enjoy the scenery. On the way home my mom filled me on matters with dad and my brother.

Once we got home I wandered up to my old room, with my mother's supervision of course. It still had all my old band posters and pictures of my friends on the walls. I went to my computer and sat down as my mom waited at the door.

I turned it on and checked all my social network stuff, such as Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, etc. My mom informed me that Doctor Wilson would be here in an hour so I should get ready for company, then she left.

I went to my closet and scanned through all my old clothing. Mostly sweaters and sweatpants, but I found a pair of skinny jeans and a tank top with a cardigan. The outfit was loose on me, since I lost so much weight since I wore it last.

My door opened and I turned around to see him. My brother, Isaac. His face contorted as he ran over to me and hugged me tightly. He grew a lot since I saw him last.

This is my first time home in a year, and only my parents are allowed to come see me. Isaac was crying, sobbing almost. I too began to get a little emotional.

Even though we bickered a lot when I was home, we still loved each other. Him being the same age as me, my twin to be exact, we fought quite a bit before the incident.

We stood there for a while in an embrace filled with tears and emotions. Finally he pulled away a little, wiping his face, and sniffling a little. He smiled at me and ran his fingers through my long waves.

"You've changed so much...much smaller than I remember" he blubbered.

"You've changed too, much bigger than I remember" we both laughed a little. He was about 6 foot now and was as beefy as a pro football player.

"Can I....can I stay in here while you finish getting ready or do you need to change again?" He asked, a little hesitantly. I giggled a little.

"No, all I really want to do is put some socks on and put on some make up, you can stay" he smiled and so did I. I wiped my face to rid it of tears and then I went to my sock as underwear drawer.

I took out a pair of socks and sat down on my bed, where Isaac sat down next to me. I bent over and put on my socks, wiggling my toes.

"Feels good, that hospital doesn't provide socks, just slippers" I gave a little laugh. Then I remembered that I was supposed to stay mute for the most part. I looked over to Isaac.

"Can we not tell mom and dad or Doctor Wilson about our conversation? They'll probably think something is up if I talk a lot to you and no one else" I explained.

"Sure, no problem. This will be between you and me, sibling promise" he held out his pinkie and I shook it with mine. We always kept to the origins of pinkie promises. If you break the promise, you have to cut off your pinkie.

One time Isaac broke it and I found him in the kitchen with his pinkie bleeding because he ate my yogurt. All he did was cut the skin, but our promise was not to eat each other's food, since we both were greedy.

I could trust him with a mild secret, but nothing huge. I sat down at my small desk and opened the drawer, rummaging through for a bottle of mascara and eye liner. When I looked in my mirror I saw Isaac sitting there, quiet as can be, but smiling his fool head off.

I had to give a small laugh at him as I began applying some eye make up. He sat quietly, just watching me the whole time. Once I was finished I stood up and exhaled.

"I really missed you" he said as he stood up with me.

"I missed you too, I miss being home" I state.

"We should go downstairs, your doctor will be here soon" he says as he ushers me through the door and down the stairs.

While my mom was cooking and my dad was reading the newspaper, Isaac and I sat on the couch and watched tv together. Our mom warned us to watch something age appropriate so we just ended up watching cartoons.

Shortly we heard a knock on the door, when the clock read 7 o'clock. Isaac answered it and there stood Doctor Wilson in a dressy casual attire.

"Hello, you must be Jes's brother" she smiled as she shook Isaac's hand. He welcomed her in and then led the way to the dining room.

I followed behind them and everyone took a seat. My mother brought out the food and sat it down on the table. This has to be one of the happiest atmosphere's I've been in since the incident.

Once all settled down, we each took some food and put it on our plate. I took respectively less than everyone else, but it was still something.

Once everyone had already divulged into their meals a great deal, my mother spoke up.

"Now, time for family matters" she cleared her throat and wiped her mouth. "Doctor Wilson has made a breakthrough with Jes" she then looked at Doctor Wilson.

"Ah yes, Jesica seems to improve greatly when she's in a social setting. I would like to take her to more social events but I am prohibited by her physical doctor. And in order for me to help her to improve further, I would need to be a legal guardian of her's" she explained. So that's what she was talking to my mother about this morning.

"So I was wondering if you all wouldn't mind her being one of Jes's guardians so she can get better faster" my mother pitched in.

I could tell my father was thinking very hard, and from across the table, Isaac gave me a pleading look.

"Well, Jes, I guess it's up to you whether you want to have Doctor Wilson as one of your legal guardians or not" my father stated as he looked to me. Suddenly I was in the spotlight.

I had the best time when I was out of the hospital and in the real world with Doctor Wilson. If she becomes a legal guardian of me, I may be able to go back to school, make new friends, become normal again.

I clear my throat and sit up straight. "I would like very much for Doctor Wilson to become a legal guardian of me" I say quietly. Immediately a smile crept across everyone's face at the table.

My decision was final, all that was left now was to let it go through the court system and then I'd be walking in freedom once again.
