4 Days Left
"It sucks you have a shift at the De Dulce tonight." Alistair complained. The pair were gathered at the lamp in his hideout.
"That's how I make money though." Cordy shrugged.
"I heard that you were leaving in a few days last night."
"Ah. Well that's what adventurers do. Not to mention that two of us have been literally talking to gods in our dreams since the cave."
"You are truly amazing, you know that?"
"Maybe a little." She giggled.
"We just met, but... I guess I was dreaming you'd stay?"
"Dreaming? About me? Getting a bit carried away now aren't we?" She teased.
"I mean it though. We get along so well."
"You've never offered to come along, so I assume you want to stay in Crobanya."
"This is my turf."
"And I'm looking for something."
"So we're destined to be apart." He said somberly.
"Maybe not forever. I've crossed a lot of this continent already. I will probably come back."
"I'll be waiting on my patio every night, o fair Cordelia." He took a dramatic pose, causing both to burst into laughter.
"Let's just enjoy whatever this is for a few days." Cordy smiled.
"Enjoy it you say?"
"You're thinking of something aren't you?" She leaned in and smiled.
"I know you're a hero and all now, but maybe you have a little rogue child left in you?" He had that smirk on his face again.
"Who are we robbing?" Cordy chuckled.
"No one important, just the guards."
"Perhaps I can come out of retirement for you, Alistair." She poked his nose playfully.
"Get a room!" One of the other kids protested. Cordy had forgotten they existed.
"I think we will." Cordy quipped. The two began walking in a very high and mighty fashion until they exited the space.
"Okay what's the plan?"
"There's a guard station near the south entrance. There are a lot of alleys and hiding spots near it, so it's an easy getaway. I distract the guards at the front door with the helpless child act, you break into the back door, find some food, money, anything to help my friends really."
"Seems easy."
"I think anything will be easy for us, the dynamic duo!" The two squeezed out of the narrow alley. "Cordelia and Alistair! Hmm, Cordystair?"
"Perhaps Aldelia?" She chuckled at the game, before jumping forward and picking her friend up.
"What the hell?" He complained as she lifted him like a baby.
"You're so small!" She smiled.
"I'm a halfling, I can't help it." As he finished she placed him on her shoulders and began running.
"I hate that I'm enjoying this." He continued to protest.
"You love it and you know it!" She jabbed. He pointed left and she hooked around a turn, the hordes of Crobanian citizens giving them odd glances, but really who cared what they thought?
