CHAPTER NINETY SEVEN !
☆
Estella and henry had been walking the entire night. she had left her weapons back at hilltop, and only brought her knife. she had also left a note for daryl, telling him that she'd left with henry to find lydia, as neither of them could live with it. it was tough to track them all without coming into contact with walkers, but they did it. they had found them. they were all sat down, relaxing.
the two of them were in a ditch, watching them. they saw lydia up against a tree, playing with what seemed to be a yo-yo. they were trying their hardest to be silent, not wanting to draw attention to them. estella took off her hat as she crouched down, and took her knife out of her belt, and put it inside the hat, putting it back on.
"what are you doing?" henry whispered to her.
"hiding the knife. they'll check us for weapons if they find us. it's best to have ones they can't see." she replied, motioning to his big stick that he had in his hands.
"okay. so our plan is to follow them for as long as we can, and get lydia's attention without any of the others." henry confirmed.
"yeah, that's your plan." she said, crouching further down and moving on her already muddy knees to get a better look.
"what do you see?" henry whispered, making her roll her eyes.
"the same thing i saw thirty seconds ago!" she scolded. "just let me do my thing. shut up before you get us caught, damn."
"sorry." he whispered back, quietly following her.
"put it down, boy." someone whispered, making both of them quickly turn around to see who it was. a man wearing a mask.
henry quickly hit the man with the stick, making him fly to the floor. estella wasn't looking at her surroundings, though, and someone grabbed her by the neck, making her quickly yelp. henry turned around, trying to hit the man to set estella free, but he grabbed the stick at the same time and threw it, grabbing henry.
the lifted the two of them out of the ditch with ease, and threw them on the floor. estella's bare shin scraped on a rock, making her wince. she knew she shouldn't have worn shorts. her cheek scraped across the floor, too, as she kept one hand on her hat to keep it on her head, trying to keep the weapon she had a secret.
"been tracking them since the glades. they've been tracking us longer." the man said to alpha.
"just them?" alpha asked as estella tried to sit up.
"just them." the man replied.
"thank you, beta." she said, before crouching down to their level. "who are you?"
estella didn't reply, so beta quickly grabbed her arm, pushing it behind her back, making her wince again, but she wasn't going to break. she wasn't blowing any cover. she wouldn't. they'd have to break her arm if they were going to, it was that simple.
"stop!" henry called out as beta bent her arm further. at least she was flexible. her body could move in all kinds of ways.
"i'll let him break your friends arm, and the other one. then, her legs. and then i'll leave her out here to feed the hungry ones." alpha warned henry, because she knew he was the weakest.
