~ Saturday morning ~

Y/n smiled softly as she looked down at Jungwon's peaceful face, feeling a sense of comfort in being able to provide him some solace from his nightmares. She carefully shifted her body, trying not to wake him up, and gently moved him to the side so she could get up from the bed.

Quietly, Y/n got dressed and headed to the kitchen to make some breakfast. She felt a bit tired from being woken up in the middle of the night, but she didn't mind. She knew that Jungwon needed her support and she was happy to provide it.

As she prepared the breakfast, Y/n couldn't help but think about how much Jungwon had opened up to her over the past few days. It was as if he had finally found someone he could trust and confide in, and Y/n felt honored to be that person for him.

Eventually, the smell of the cooking breakfast woke Jungwon up, and he emerged from the bedroom with a sleepy expression on his face. Y/n smiled at him and invited him to sit down at the table.

Over breakfast, Y/n and Jungwon talked about their plans for the day. Jungwon seemed a bit hesitant to make any concrete plans, but Y/n reassured him that they could do whatever he felt comfortable with.

Y/n's little brother Jaehyun walked into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes and yawning. When he saw Jungwon, his eyes widened and he smiled widely.

"Good morning, Jungwon!" he exclaimed, running over to the table and pulling out a chair to sit next to him.

"Good morning, Jaehyun," Jungwon replied with a small smile.

Y/n watched as Jaehyun chatted animatedly with Jungwon, telling him about his latest toys and games. She couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and happiness at seeing the two of them bond.

After breakfast, Y/n suggested they all go to the park together. Jaehyun jumped at the idea and ran to get his shoes.

As they walked to the park, Y/n kept glancing over at Jungwon, feeling grateful that he was there with them. She knew he still had his struggles, but she was determined to be there for him in any way she could.

When they reached the park, Jaehyun ran off to the playground, leaving Y/n and Jungwon to sit on a nearby bench. They watched as Jaehyun climbed and swung on the equipment, laughing and shouting.

"He's a happy kid," Jungwon remarked, his eyes never leaving Jaehyun.

Y/n smiled, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, he is. He's my little ray of sunshine."

Jungwon looked at her, his eyes softening. "You're mine."

Y/n felt her heart skip a beat at his words. She turned to him, meeting his gaze. "What do you mean?"

Jungwon hesitated for a moment before speaking. "You're the only one who's ever cared about me. You're the only one who's ever made me feel like I'm worth something."

Y/n reached out and took his hand, squeezing it gently. "You are worth something, Jungwon. You're worth everything."

Jungwon's eyes flicked to their intertwined hands and then back up to Y/n's face. He gave her a small smile before leaning in to rest his head on her shoulder.

Y/n wrapped her arm around him, feeling his warmth and the steady rise and fall of his chest as he breathed. She closed her eyes, savoring the moment of closeness between them.

Y/n couldn't help but feel a strange sensation in her chest as she watched Jungwon resting his head on her shoulder while they sat on the bench, enjoying the warm sunlight and the sounds of Jaehyun's laughter. It was a feeling she had never experienced before, a mix of warmth, comfort, and something more she couldn't quite put her finger on.

Jungwon looked up at her and smiled, and Y/n felt her heart skip a beat. She couldn't deny the fact that she had grown attached to him, that she cared deeply for him, and that she wanted to protect him from all the pain and suffering he had been through.

She glanced down at their intertwined hands and wondered if he felt the same way. She had seen glimpses of vulnerability and affection in him, but he was always so guarded and closed off. Y/n knew that it would take time and patience to break down his walls, but she was willing to do it. She wanted to show him that he was not alone, that he was loved, and that he had a place in this world.

As they sat there in comfortable silence, Y/n made a silent promise to herself to be there for Jungwon, no matter what. She would be his light in the darkness, his anchor in the storm, and his home in the vastness of the world. And she hoped that one day, he would feel the same way about her.

~ Later that day ~

As they walked down the street, Y/n noticed how people were staring at them, but she didn't care. She was happy to be with Jungwon and her little brother, enjoying their ice cream.

After they finished their treats, they walked back to the park. Jaehyun was running ahead of them, but Y/n and Jungwon walked hand in hand, enjoying each other's company.

"Jungwon, can I ask you something?" Y/n said, breaking the silence.

"Sure, what is it?" he replied.

"I've been thinking about you a lot lately, and I want to know more about you. Do you mind telling me about your past and how you ended up in the orphanage?" Y/n asked, hoping that she wasn't crossing any boundaries.

Jungwon hesitated for a moment before taking a deep breath and opening up to her. He told her about his parents' death in a car accident when he was six years old and how he was left alone with no one to take care of him. He spent the next few years living on the streets, begging for food and shelter until he was eventually taken to the orphanage.

Y/n listened intently, feeling a deep sadness for what Jungwon had been through. She couldn't imagine going through something like that at such a young age.

"I'm so sorry, Jungwon," she said, squeezing his hand.

"It's okay, Y/n. I've learned to live with it," he replied with a small smile.

Y/n couldn't help but admire Jungwon's resilience and strength. Despite everything he had been through, he still managed to keep a positive attitude and a kind heart.

As they continued to walk, Y/n made a silent promise to herself that she would always be there for Jungwon, no matter what.

Jaehyun eagerly nodded and turned to Jungwon with a bright smile. "Hey, Jungwon, do you wanna play a game with me?" he asked.

Jungwon looked up at him, surprised. "What game?" he asked, his voice still soft.

Jaehyun beamed. "I spy with my little eye, something...red!" he said, pointing to a red balloon floating above them.

Jungwon looked up and followed Jaehyun's finger. He smiled faintly and said, "The balloon?"

Jaehyun clapped his hands in excitement. "Yeah! Your turn now!" he said.

Y/n watched as Jungwon's face lit up with a small smile, grateful for the distraction. She leaned over to him and whispered, "Thank you for telling me, Jungwon. I'm here for you, always."

Jungwon turned his head towards her and gave her a grateful nod. Y/n couldn't help but feel her heart flutter again at the sight of his soft smile.
