A quiet beeping noise quickly got Dustin attention and he slowly opened his eyes to find the source of the rather irritating noise. Turning his head to the right, Dustin found that it was his phone alarm that had disrupted his slumber and sluggishly reached his arm out from under his blanket to turn it off. He got a better look at the time upon sitting upright; 6: 30 Am, a good two hours before he was supposed to leave.
A yawn escaped him as he stood up and stretched his arms high in the air, careful not to give himself a morning cramp while stretching his legs.Dustin stepped into his slippers and sluggishly dragged himself out of his room and down the hall to the bathroom of his new place. After doing his business, he began to wash his hands before splashing some water on his face to shake the remaining grogginess of sleep.
After wiping his face with his hand, he managed to get a better look at himself in the mirror. Dustin had Wavy blond hair that reached down to lower neck along with two longer bangs which arched over each of his bronze eyes, he wore a plain black T-shirt and a pair of brown cargo shorts he slept in along with a pair of bright pink bunny slippers on his feet. He gently grabbed both bangs with two fingers of each hand and raised them upward to better resemble the hero he'd initially styled them after, only for them to drop over his eyes again once he let go.
He let out a quiet sigh of disappointment before reaching for his toothbrush and ran it under the faucet water then applying the toothpaste to brush his teeth.Dustin lifted his shirt a bit to scratch his belly as he strolled into the kitchen, the sound of sizzling was accompanied by the mouth watering smell of bacon. Rounding the corner, he saw that koichi was at the stove, cooking some breakfast for the two of them.
Koichi was a family friend that Dustin had known his entire life and who'd be taking care of him for the duration of his time in Japan. Koichi was a tall, lanky man with frizzled jet black hair with deep blue eyes and wore a simple white button up along with a black apron which obscured his pants and some black socks. "Mornin', Koichi." Dustin greeted. "Ready for the big day?" Koichi asked, tending to the pancakes in another pan."As ready as one can be." He replied, taking a seat at the table by the sliding door. It was still quite early, so the sun wasn't quite up yet, but Dustin could see the sky beginning to change color from behind the blinds. His 'stargazing' was interrupted by Koichi, who set a plate of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon along with a white mug of coffee down on the table.
"It really a good idea to give coffee to a 15 year old?" Dustin asked, half jokingly.
"Gotta make sure you're up and ready. Can't have you passing out mid-exam now, can we." Koichi answered, handing him a fork and butter knife. Dustin nodded once as he took the utensils and began to cut up the pancakes. 'Just pray I don't shit myself.' he thought to himself, eating a slice.
Koichi took off the apron, placed his breakfast on the table and sat down across from Dustin, who was already halfway done with his meal. All Koichi could do was stare at the young man in front of him, he could see hints of both parents in his face, even while he stuffed his mouth with bacon and eggs. "You're really on your way to U.A, huh?" Koichi asked. Dustin swallowed the delicious food and pointed his knife at the older man.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves, still gotta pass the exam first." He replied.
"What? You nervous?" He asked. "Well.... yeah." He admitted. "Why?" Koichi asked, leaning back in his chair. "You've studied like hell since you got here, you haven't let your workout routine slip up at all. Hell, you've been practicing your Japanese for three months before we even moved." Koichi stated. Dustin could only keep his head lowered to hide the crimson blush forming on his cheeks, he knew koichi was right.
"Look, all I'm saying is that you've got this. You'll ace this whole thing for sure." He added, finally picking up a fork to scoop up his eggs. Dustin grabbed his coffee mug and sipped the dark liquid. Thankfully, the beverage has cooled down enough to where it wouldn't burn his tongue but was still warm enough to taste good. About halfway through his drink, Dustin set the mug down before grabbing a paper towel off the roller and wiping his mouth.
