Wrong Idea

"I do trust you." He whispered back, Maki let out an approving "hmph" and slowly leaned in. Giyuu felt a warm sensation gently hit his lips, it was slow but confident.

At first he enjoyed it, then he came to sudden realization...' it's not Shinobu..this is wrong.' He couldn't get it out of his head. He quickly pulled away.

"What's wrong? Is something wrong?" Maki asked, putting her arm on his chest. "I-I don't think this is a good idea, Maki...I mean I just got out of a relationship...this feels wrong." He mumbled.

"It's not wrong!" She said drunkly, "don't get the wrong idea, it's just for fun it can be a one time thing, promise...just for now don't think of Kocho...I'm right here." She slowly put her lips on his collar, purposely leaving lipstick stains and he sat there. 'She's right, Just a distraction wouldn't hurt. No more further than that.'

He let her continue her actions then she finished, she put her hand on his cheek and gave him one more kiss. "Do you wanna?" Maki blushed profusely.

Giyuu immediately shook his head. "No..I'm fine, I should get going I have a couple more missions to finish with her." He wouldn't openly admit that he wished it was Shinobu on him instead of her, but his imagination didn't stop him.

"You're going on a mission drunk? Cause that's so safe." She said while serving herself a cup. "It's not that bad I can manage."

He got up with his belongings and left, not realizing to clean up after himself. His crow followed behind him shouting instructions.

*CAW CAW— TOMIOKA GIYUU AND KOCHO SHINOBU!! CAW, REPORT TO A CITY NORTH EAST!! TAKE THE TRAIN TO KANAZAWA!! A DEMON ATTACKED A FAMILY OF 5 THE REMAINING DETAILS ARE UNKNOWN!"

"Are you sure it's Kanazawa this time? I don't need another mistake, Kanzaburou." Giyuu asked nervously, as he knew his crow was old and forgetful. His crow nodded slightly and starting flying away.

"I can't believe I gotta see her.." He mumbled, Although his feelings were complicated, He knew he still loved her. That's one thing that would never change, maybe he felt awkward and nervous but he would never change his feelings for her.

Shinobou's POV

"Why couldn't this mission wait at least a day after I broke up with him? I hate to see him sad..UGH!! No- I did it for the right reasons. Just focus like if he were any other comrade." Shinobou sighed as she walked her way to the town.

As she declared her goodbyes to the butterfly girls she began her journey. She couldn't help but think of all the possibilities that could happen with Giyuu. What if they kissed? What if he was looking at another woman? All these thoughts that Shinobu couldn't help but overthink.

She had to stop, it was to late to take everything she said back. She began running to arrive there faster. After about hours of running and floating around she arrived late at night. "Is he here yet?" She slightly mumbled.

She wandered around for a few minutes, looking at the gift shop or even buying some sweets from vendors. She got back to the platform and she spotted Giyuu getting ogled by many women. "Don't get jealous..it's not your problem anymore!.." shinobu thought.

She kept staring at Giyuu, adding on to the many girls. Giyuu looked around and walked up to her. He stood next to her, without a sound as if he weren't even there. The both of them standing side by side created an awkward tension, a feeling they both felt heavily.

Once Shinobu noticed the train coming she alerted Giyuu. "Tomioka, The trains coming! Let's board before it gets crowded." She said while looking up at him. He didn't bother to look down at her, simply he just nodded.

They boarded on the train but it seemed like it was too late, there was no empty seats so they were forced to stand, crowded and everyone getting pressed on. Shinobu couldn't help but realize that her and giyuu were as close as ever, and still they were awkward.

The small talk didn't help, they were both silent and forced to wander their eyes around the cart. Shinobu darted her eyes everywhere else except for where giyuu stood; but she couldn't help and notice a dark red on his collar and neck.

She observed it more and realized what it was, lipstick marks. '' what the hell? It hasn't even been a full day and he's already sleeping around?! Did I mean nothing?!' The thoughts invaded her mind that she abruptly asked, "Why do you have lipstick marks?"

Giyuu looked down at her, clearly confused. She sighed and reached to touch his neck and wipe a bit off. She showed him her finger and his realization hit. "nothing, it's nothing."

"Who were you with? What were you doing?" She started to interrogate him, staring deep into his eyes. "Don't get the wrong idea..It was an accident. Can we just ride quietly?" He suggested.

She didn't answer, "Who was she? Was it Maki?" the slight mumble left her mouth. The silence answered her question. She felt a little...she didn't know. After all, She did say she was done with him.

After hours of the train, and still more hours to go, They could both feel their eyes grow heavy, especially Shinobu. The night prior she was up all night in her lab making new potions and conducting experiments. Her tiredness got to her, she slowly closed her eyes. I mean after all she knew she was safe with him.

Giyuu realized that she had fallen asleep standing up, he gently raised his arm and put his palm to the back of her head. He then slowly yet softly put her head on his chest. He felt giddy, he wasn't sure what her reaction would be but he knew it wouldn't be a happy one as she's very stubborn on missions.

He looked down to watch her and let out a soft smile. He was vulnerable around her and he knew it. Some part of him feels sorry for her because she goes through enough and already has to deal with him yet that didn't matter to him because he just wanted to stay like that forever.

sorry for the short chapter!! I wanted to make the actual fight scene the next chapter that way it's not all over the place, so it's like this is a bonus in a way!!
