Patrick lays asleep next to a very wide awake Pete who hadn't even put in the effort to sleep, they lay together in the hotel bed, Pete had gotten up as careful as he could as to not wake Patrick, he made his way to the window, staring at the star lit sky, the moon was clouded but you could still make out the crescent shape of it, it looks as if it were to rain. Pete had lost track of his thoughts and almost didn't hear the blonde calling his name "Pete?"
"Huh? Sorry I didn't hear you" Pete said as he walked back over to the bed slipping under the covers and wrapping the blonde in his arms, kissing his cheek.Pete awoke from his dream and found himself sleeping on a pullout sofa
That's right
They aren't dating
Though Pete wishes for it, it will probably never happen.
He stared at the ceiling, thinking of how it could cave in at any moment, crush them all, hey maybe then he won't have to confess to Patrick.
Pete knows Patrick will say no
He knows these feelings are nothing to express, though he doesn't say them he puts them into songs, Patrick is singing love songs about himself without realizing.
Pete knew it would probably be best to tell Patrick but he could never bring himself too upon knowing he'll be rejected.Pete can't help himself when it comes to being on stage with Patrick
Kisses on the necks of best friends
Touching
Pete couldn't help himself
And Patrick didn't mind
Just as long as they aren't off stage.
After the show Pete and Patrick found themselves alone together in the dressing room "they loved that" Pete said as he messed with his hair in the mirror "they loved you really, the star of the show, Mr stump" Pete bowed toward Patrick who rolled his eyes and took out his earpiece "you had a failed attempt at crowd surfing"
"Yea but it was fun"
Nights went on where the bright lights of the stage hit there faces and cued to the music, guitars screaming out cords and drums banging as loud as ever, the touching, the kissing, the lyrics of the songs Patrick never quite paid attention to while singing "meeee and you, setting in a honey moon, if I woke up next to you" Pete whispered in Patrick's ear "our honeymoon" and Patrick shrugged it off like always until the song came to an end, Pete whispering one more thing before they play the final song "I'm in love with you" Patrick didn't know what to say as the lights dropped and the cue came to start the song, the beginning cords of saturday roared through the stadium as people screamed the line the remember so well
Two more weeks
Speaking of two more weeks
Two weeks later they were on the way to there final show, tonight, in the dressing room, Patrick confronted Pete of what he had been whispering "did you mean it? " Patrick was being serious but he knew Pete wasn't "nah I was just joking"
"Peter"
...
The silence was enough to tell Patrick he was right
"Was it true?"
"Yes"
.
.
.
A simple yes lead to kissing until their lips felt numb, fingertips tingling from touching the other, everything clicked in to place like a puzzle, together and complete.
As the kiss broke no words were needed to explain the feelings, they went on stage as always, but it felt different, the lights seemed brighter, the crowd seemed louder, it felt like a dream but this time it's real, Pete and Patrick sang Saturday together and gave their infamous bow toward each other as the crowd screamed along "I love you" was whispered from the bassist as Patrick whispered back "I love you too"
The lights dropped and the crowd cheered as it ended, but for these two it was just the beginning.
