Nolan and I walked into the plane hangar waiting for our jet to arrive. According to my father, we had to hop on a jet to Milan for our mission, which would last two weeks.
"Well, well, well McKinnon. Are you excited about this mission" Nolan leaned against the wall and rose an eyebrow.
"Ha, Redfield. You're a little too excited." I rolled my eyes as I leaned against the wall.
"Only excited for you." Nolan smirked as the plane pulled onto the runway and opened the door. My father stood on the stairs and escorted us in.
"Dad, it's too early for this." I complained as I plopped into a seat and put my feet up on the seat across from mine.
"Well, I know but we have to familiarize ourselves with the city as well as check in and prepare for the mission."
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.
"McKinnon, I think you're a little grouchy. Lighten up." Nolan whispered as I turned my head to the right so hard that my neck cracked.
"Shush, Redfield. Or I'll put tape on those lips of yours."
"McKinnon, you naughty naughty."
"I mean it." I stood up and stormed into the cockpit where my father was.
"Dad, where are your guns?"
"Locked away. Why?"
"Because I'm going to blow my brains out."
"Josephine, stop being dramatic. You know Nolan has that flirty personality."
"Yeah, and it's gotten him in trouble back at school."
"Josephine , just at least try to get along with him."
"I'm going to either kill him or put tape on his mouth."
"Please, Jo."
"Fine." I huffed as I went back into the same seat I was in before.
"Missed me?" Nolan asked as he leaned back against the seat.
"In your dreams."
"Wheels are going up now." The co-pilot alerted as we got comfortable in our seats.
I took out a book from my carry on bag and started reading. Out of the corner of my eye, Nolan reviewed a file from his bag. It was the mission file from earlier.
"Damn, that's crazy." Nolan muttered under his breath.
I continued reading, maybe I'd just ignore him.
"Hey, Jo, don't you know the monument in this picture?" Nolan tapped my shoulder.
"I swear to God, I'll chop your finger off." I whirled around and closed my book. "What do you want?"
"This monument. Don't you know what it is?"
I looked at the picture intensely.
"Yeah, that's the Leonardo Di Vinci Monument."
"Really?"
"Yeah, that's also his horse over there."
"He had a horse?"
"Yes he did. I don't know if you paid attention in history class, but monuments are important in missions."
"How so?"
"They can used in riddles that could lead to clues."
"Well look at you little miss smart ass."
"Is that it? Can I get back to my book?" I started reading yet again before he could answer.
