Mingze stuffed his hands into his jacket pocket. It was the month of December, so the weather temperatures dropped.

His hands were freezing and the pockets of his puffy did not help whatsoever.

He entered the nearest cafe, where there was a warm and cozy heater inside. He also liked the scent of coffee, which made it a lot better.

Mingze opened the door of the cafe, which caused the bell on the door to ring.

As he entered inside, there weren't a lot of people in the building.

"Welcome to Shining Cafe!" The cashier called out.

He replied by giving a small bow to the cashier. He walked to the nearest table where he was going to sit.

Once he sat at his table, he unzipped his backpack and took out his laptop.

He slowly took off his mask and his cap. He looked around the cafe to see if anybody recognized him. Luckily, nobody did.

Mingze put the cap and mask in his backpack.

Afterward, he opened his laptop, inputted his password, and opened a file on the laptop.

He took his AirPods and connected them to the laptop using Bluetooth.

He then began to work on what was in his file.

"This music is horrible for the lyrics." Mingze sighed, changing the beat of what was in his file.

If you guessed it, he was now working as a songwriter.

And if you guessed it again, he was working as a songwriter for Zerobaseone.

Mingze thought that he needed a job that was based on music since that was pretty much his whole life.

His whole life was about music.

Adding on to that, he was not going to be a choreographer and create a hideous dance.

So, he decided to become a songwriter. He needed money to survive after all.

Mingze continued to change the music of his new song. He listened to the music, and if it was still bad, he had to change the music once again

"The music is way too off." He mumbled.

He continued to struggle to create the music he wanted, so it could match with lyrics.

Just then, someone decided to approach him.

Mingze was too focused on his creation that he didn't notice the person in front of him. The person had to slap Mingze's head for him to notice.

He looked up, and he furrowed his eyebrows.

"Do I know you?"

"You don't know me?!" The person gasped.

That person took off his mask.

"Oh... oh shoot! Oh- um- yeah, um, you can sit down here." Mingze stood up from his chair to pull the chair in front of him so the other person could sit.

He saved his work before closing his laptop. He took off his Airpods and faced the person in front of him.

"How are you, Lee Seunghwan?"

"Well, I was going great until you forgot who I was!" Seunghwan glared at Mingze.

"Sorry." He muttered.

"Were you making music? I saw your screen and it had a lot of music bars."

"Yeah. I'm a songwriter now."

"Really?! For who?"

"Zerobaseone."

Seunghwan let out a loud gasp. The customers in the cafe turned to Seunghwan since he was the one who made the loud noise.

He gave a small bow, apologizing to the rest of the customers.

"You've gotten a lot quieter," Seunghwan remarked.

"I haven't contacted a lot of people from Boys Planet after the eliminations, except for Kamden, Jay, and Ollie," Mingze said.

"Not even the people from Zerobaseone?" He asked, eating his cinnamon roll.

Mingze shook his head.

"They're too busy with their idol stuff so I haven't had the time to talk to them. And when they would record for their songs, I wouldn't be the person to help them with singing or whatever."

"Of course they're busy with their idol stuff." Seunghwan muffled into his cinnamon roll.

"You want a bite?"

Mingze leaned in to take a bite from the cinnamon roll.

"It's good."

"Not even a thank you? You're mean."

"Thanks."

"Also, I'm curious, how did you enter Boys Planet? You've never mentioned how you joined?" Seunghwan suddenly asked.

"All of the sudden?" He nodded.

"I wasn't sure since I didn't know myself until I found out it was Renjun who forcefully signed me up."

"Really? Don't you have to audition for it though?"Seunghwan laughed.

"Mhm. He probably used an old video of me practicing one of NCT Dream's songs."

The two continued to have a small quiet conversation until someone approached Mingze's table.

The person had a suit on, and their hair was styled.

Not something you would see in a cafe every day.

"Can I help you?" Seunghwan asked nervously.

"You're Lee Seunghwan and Shen Mingze, right?" The person asked. The two boys nodded nervously.

The person gave the two boys his business cards.

"Please give us a call sometime." That was the last thing they said before they left the cafe.

Seunghwan and Mingze looked at the business cards given to them.

"WakeOne?" Seunghwan raised an eyebrow. "Are they serious?!" He looked at Mingze.

"They suddenly think I have potential, I'm flattered."
Mingze joked, examining the business card carefully.

"This business card is definitely real," He mumbled.

"Should we try auditioning?" Seunghwan asked. Mingze thought about it for a moment.

"Sure, I don't think it'll be painful."
