Tim ran a hand through his hair, an annoyed and heavy sigh leaving his chapped lips. "Why are you here now?" Tim asked as he turned his head, glancing over his shoulder. "You can't give me just a day without popping up?"
"Where's the fun in that?" The figured, whom seemed to be Brian, asked as he tilted his head with a sickly sweet smile curled on his lips. He sat on the bed behind Tim, back pressed against the headboard with arms crossed. The upper half of his face was hidden behind his signature black ski mask, only his mouth being revealed. His dull orange hood rested on his head, hands gloved with black fabric. Tim shut his eyes, head hanging as he thought to himself. He knew it wasn't actually Brian. He knew it was a hallucination caused by his lack of medication. It would only be a matter of time before he could get his hands on the white pills that kept his mind from losing more screws than it already had. "Just go away already," Tim said in a soft, almost sad tone as he stood from the edge of his bed.
"I thought you'd be happier to see me," Brian said, his smile faltering slightly. He seemed genuinely hurt at Tim's lack of happiness at his presence.
"Yeah, I would be. If you were real," Tim replied, getting on his knees and unzipping his backpack. He knew his time at the hotel would be limited, plans on where to go next running through his mind. "Hmm...where you headed to?" Brian asked, standing from the bed.
"Don't know," Tim simply replied. "Why are you still here?" He asked, a bit more harshly than expected. Brian frowned, beginning to grow irritated at how rude Tim was being. "Quit being an ass," he spat without a second thought.
"Stop trying to convince me you're there," Tim replied, standing so he was face to face with 'Brian'. He glared up at him. "You and I both know he's dead, so drop it. Spare me the guilt." With that, Tim pushed past him and made his way to the bathroom.Spitting the toothpaste into the sink, Tim cupped his hands and held them under the running water. He watched as his cupped hands filled with the cold fluid, bringing it up to his mouth and filling it with the water. He swished it around before spitting it back into the sink, then proceeding to splash water on his face. He sighed softly, reaching for the hand towel next to him and patting his face dry with it. He looked up at himself in the mirror and then rolled his eyes. Brian stood behind him in the reflection, arms crossed and face fully exposed. He narrowed his eyes at Tim through the reflection. "You're being a dick," Brian grumbled, Tim huffing as he threw the hand towel down. "Takes one to know one," Tim hissed, walking out of the bathroom.
He made his way back over to his bag, unzipping it once more and beginning to dig in it. He pulled out a couple of pill prescription bottles, hoping to find maybe just one pill. Maybe he had mistaken one of the many bottles to be empty. An annoyed growl left him as he pulled out only more empty bottles, his hope diminishing.
A shaking noise came from behind him, causing him to tense slightly. He recognized the sound as pills rattling around in a container, causing Tim to turn around. Brian stood with a shit-eating grin, holding an orange pill bottle between his thumb and index finger. "Lookin' for somethin'?" He asked, his grin only widening. Tim's gaze fell on the pills and then glared at Brian. "Is this some joke?"
"Not unless you find it funny," Brian hummed, tossing the container up a bit before catching it in the same hand. "I haven't used them. You haven't changed doses, have y–"
Tim's fist came into harsh contact with Brian's cheek, causing the male to stumble and drop the pills. A fresh wave of pain coursed through his cheek, Brian raising a hand to cup his cheek. As he looked back at Tim, the brunette charged him and shoved him harshly against the wall. He gripped the front of Brian's hood tightly, pure rage plastered on his sleep deprived face. "You think this is fucking funny?!" Tim boomed, Brian tossing his head back a bit as he let out a laugh. "Take me out to dinner first, why don't ya?" He joked, only filling Tim with more anger. Brian then locked eyes with Tim, feeling as though he had enough fun for now. "The camera," he hissed, his wide grin coming back. Tim's eyes widened slightly. "What?"
Brian shoved Tim off of him, causing him to trip over his foot and fall back. He groaned slightly, looking up at Brian. Brian towered over him, tilting his head again. "Don't you remember what I told you?" He asked with an acid tone. "Point your camera at hallucinations to see if they're real."
"You're n-ot real," Tim said with a shaky voice, unsure if he was mad or scared at his vulnerability at the moment. Brian's grin only widened, his eyes having a wicked look to them. "Then it wouldn't hurt trying, would it?" He asked. Tim's breath grew shaky, hesitantly turning his head to look over his shoulder. He saw his phone, resting on the nightstand behind him. He glanced back at Brian before quickly reaching for it, scrambling to pull it off of the charger and turn it on. He felt so stupid for feeding into the thought that Brian was really there, but he had to be sure. As far as he knew, Brian had died. But just in case, he needed to know for sure.
Tim pulled up his camera and aimed it at Brian, waiting for the app to load. Brian snickered at how wide Tim's eyes grew, the air leaving his lungs in a shaky, scared breath. "H-ow?" Tim asked shakily, unable to take his eyes off of the screen. He watched through it as Brian approached, causing him to finally look up from the phone.
"I bet you feel really fucking stupid right now," Brian hissed, staring deeply into Tim's panicked eyes. Tim's breath quickened. This whole time, he was under the assumption that Brian was a hallucination. Multiple hotels, hour long trips. Brian was actually there the whole time, watching him. Keeping Tim close to him and the Operator.
"Why?" Tim asked, scooting back to try and get away from Brian. "Why– why are you doing this?"
"Because we need you, Masky," Brian said softly, grin turning into a smile. "I need you." Tim's eyes swam with tears, unsure of how to react. "C'mon... we're in this together," Brian hummed softly, reaching his hand out for Tim to take. Tim stared at his hand, thinking. He had to act.
He lunged to his side, beginning to try and scramble to his feet. He was nearly able to do so before Brian practically tackled him, the additional weight causing him to crash back down to the ground. "nO!" Tim yelled, trying to push himself back up. It was useless, for Brian had a pretty good grip on him. He straddled Tim's lower back, pushing him down to the ground by his shoulders. Then, the ringing came.
Tim let out a pain scream as his head lowered onto the carpet beneath him. He squirmed, the ringing only growing louder and louder. It was as if Tim's mind went to static at the sound, his thoughts completely disappearing and being replaced with pure pain and silence. After what felt like an eternity, it came to a stop.
Heavy pants came from Masky as the ringing stopped, his struggles having stopped and instead being replaced with trembling. Hoodie slowly loosened his grip on him, hesitantly standing and stepping to the side. "Masky," he said softly.
Masky let out a shaky breath, pressing his hands against the carpet before beginning to slowly push himself up. Hoodie held out a hand to assist, Masky looking at it. He hesitantly took it, allowing his friend to help pull him to his feet. Masky held a hand up to his head, eyes shut as he winced. "Dammit..," he mumbled.
There was a sudden knock, catching the attention of Hoodie and Masky. They both stared at the door, waiting. "Hello?" Someone called. "Is everything alright in there?"
Masky's pupils contracted, Hoodie glancing down at him. "You go ahead," he hummed, holding out a white mask with black markings on it to Masky. "I'll get all of your things. Masky grinned, taking the mask from Hoodie. He examined it. "You let it get cracked."
"It was like that when I found it," Hoodie replied. "Not my fault for once." Masky rolled his eyes, beginning to approach the door as he pulled the mask over his head.
