"You can't run forever, Tim."
"Fuck you," Tim breathed with a slight wheeze, hands on the ground as he tried to pull himself to stand. His head hung, not daring to look up at his so called "friend". The sound of rocks crunching made Tim's ear flinched as it grew closer, him looking up slightly to see the shoes of the nake standing before him. "You know you can't do anything, Tim...please, just stop running.""Why are you taking his side?" Tim asked, voice a bit louder and full of irritation. He looked up, eyes landing on the face of his best friend. "I can fix it– I-I can make it stop–"
"Tim, stop." Brian crouched down in front of Tim, locking eyes with him as he wore a sympathetic look on his face. "You can't fix anything." Tim stayed silent for a moment before his eyes swam with tears. "Y–You're wr-ong," he said in a whisper. Be hung his head one more time, gripping at the dirt and rocks beneath his hands. Brian said nothing as he raised a hand, resting it on Tim's shoulder. A stiffled sob left the brunette that crumpled before him. "It's all my f–ault," he whispered.
Then it came. Loud ringing filled their ears, the sound seeming to come from nowhere. It made them cringe and wince, Brian harshly furrowing his brows as his eyes shut. Tim curled up slightly, gripping at his hair as a pained groan left him. He felt as though his body was tingling. Like if he was swimming in a pool of pure static. It suddenly stopped, bringing relief to their heads.
Brian let out a deep sigh, hazel eyes opening and falling on Tim once more. "Get up," he said in a soft voice. It had lost its previous kindness, having more of a stern hint to it. He held out a hand, holding out the white mask with black features to his friend. "We have a job to do."
Tim looked back up, staring at the mask before him for a moment. He then grabbed it, giving it one more look before pushing himself up. Brian stood straight after this, watching Tim closely. Tim brought the mask up to his face, pulling the string back and making sure it was secure on his head. Brian then pulled the cloth that rest around his neck up, covering his face with the black fabric that had a red frowny face on it.
