The refreshing water washed on to my board hitting my face as I waited patiently for a wave to come, leaving little droplets of salty sea water in my mouth and eyes, the cold summer breeze from the surface of the water was engulfing me in goosebumps. The few people on the shore looked only like small little ants from back here.
I looked behind me, nobody was out there, and the waves were only getting smaller as the sun started to set. I completely lost track of time, my parents are gonna freak! I have been in here for hours, how can I tell? My fingers have shrivelled up and turned into prunes.
I started to swim back on my board back to shore, Knowing I wasn't going to get another wave, I only got a few today, The warm sand wrapped my cold wet feet in a blanket. I watched the ground, water drops falling on to the sand from my messy long hair. I made my way to the surf club to get my bag with my towel and my necessary goods in there.
I checked my watch in my bag it read 6:12 pm, Yep i'm screwed I quickly washed my board down at the outside shower and rinsed myself off too before chucking on my denim shorts and my floral top wrapping my shoulders in my dry warm towel. placing my board securely under my arm I started to fast walk back home, which is only about a 10 minute walk.
I was greeted by my Mother Debbie, sitting in the chair on the front porch. I slowly walked up the 3 stairs onto the porch to be strictly stared at "Isabelle where were you! You should have been home hours ago!'' she angrily told me. "I was at the beach, surfing" I said pointing to my board. She shook her head at me disapprovingly, my mum doesn't like me surfing she thinks its a waste of time, she thinks I should be studying or doing homework instead.
I went out the back to the shed to put away my board, summer nights in Australia sure do get cold outside. I quickly jogged inside I tried to sneak past my parents and my little brother David. Nope my dad had to see me, "Isabelle!'' called my dad, I slowly started to walk backwards to the doorway of the dining room. My dad isn't the type to get mad at me for these things, he is a real calm guy, my mum on the other hand she's a perfectionist and she's pretty much a snob, thats what I call her.
After my small lecture from my mum not as much my dad, and some dinner, I was finally in the shower! washing away all the sand and salt of my body and out of my hair, I refreshed my self, washing my body with my favourite coconut body wash and washing my hair with this flower stuff my mum buys, I brushed my teeth then hopped out of the shower, and dried my self off before putting on my summer pyjamas I got for christmas and wrapping my self in my bed sheets I drifted of into a deep and calm sleep.
