WarZone: Book 3 to the Echo Series

Let me Sleep!!!!

Mitch's P.O.V
I open my eyes. I'm sitting in a chair weird in Echo's room in the hospital. It's still night. I close my eyes. I hear the door open.

"Aw look at Mitch." Someone whispers.

"How can that chair be comfy?" Someone asks.

"Mitch can make anything comfy remember?" Someone asks. I feel something warm go on me. This must be a blanket.

"He looks so cute asleep." Someone whispers.

"I know. Let's go before we wake him up." Someone said. I hear the door shut. I open my eyes. The gave me a blanket. I grip it in my hand and put my legs on the arm rest and my head on the other arm rest and against the cushion.Echo hasn't woken up yet and I haven't left her side. She wouldn't leave me so I won't leave her. I close my eyes.

I hear talking. I open my eyes. I move a little. I close them. I'm so tired.

"Morning sleepyhead." Someone said. I open my eyes. My eyes move to the side. Misty, Robert, Katie and Oliver are here. Echo isn't up yet.

"What time is it?"

"8:35 am." Robert said. That's too early!!

"Wake me up in like 5 hours." I close my eyes and put the blanket over my head.

"Mitch come on get up." Katie said shaking me. I peek over the blanket and at her.

"Mitch your already up just stay awake." Robert said. This is the earliest I have ever been up before. Well actually there was that time I woke up at 4 in the morning. I put the blanket back over my head.

"Guys he isn't gonna get up." Misty said. At least she knows. I close my eyes.

"You have to force him." Misty said. Whoa what?! She pulls off my blanket and sits in my lap. I open my eyes.

"Hey I was comfy."

"It doesn't really matter does it." Misty said. She moves so her back is on my legs and her legs are next to my head.

"Get off."

"No your kind of comfy." Misty said.

"How is that comfy?" Robert asks.

"It just is." Misty said. Andrew comes in.

"So nice that you could joins us." Andrew stops and looks at me.

"Umm..nevermind." Andrew said.

"Come on kids time to go." Robert said.

"See ya Mitch." Oliver and Katie said. They leave.

"Those kids love you."Misty said. Andrew goes next to Echo.

"She'll wake up soon Andrew."

"How do you know that?" Andrew asks.

"Because she's a survivor." Misty moves on me and puts her back on my chest and her head next to mine. Her legs go on mine.

"This is better." Misty smiles. I put my arms around her. Andrew sits down in the couch. He looks at us.

"How is that comfy?" Andrew asks.

"It just is cause Mitch is soft." Misty said. Wait is that a insult or a compliment? I close my eyes.

"Soft? Mitch can't be that soft." Andrew said. Misty shakes me.

"Hey no falling asleep." Misty said. I open my eyes.

"Mitch does look tired." Andrew said.

"I am tired. That's why I want to go back to sleep."

"Why don't you sleep in a bed or on the couch?" Andrew asks.

"Bed to far and this was the first thing I sat down on." Misty gets off of me.

"Andrew switch with us. Mitch come on." Misty said. Andrew stands up. I don't move. Misty grabs my arm.

"I swear you guys are like children sometimes." Misty said as she pulls me to the couch. She sits down. I lay down. I put my head on her lap. She smiles and begins to play with my hair. I put my legs over the arm rest. I move onto my side. I feel her arm on my side. I put one of my hands on her leg and close my eyes. She is kind of comfy.

"Andrew hand me that." Misty whispered. I feel something go on me. That blanket.
Misty's P.O.V
I twirl Mitch's hair with my fingers. His hair is so soft I just love it. His arm goes under my legs and he moves his head a little. He doesn't move anymore after that. I move the blanket up a little so it's a little over his shoulder. He has some type of black strap thing on his arm that hurts. That must be the thing the doctor gave him to wear.

"Having fun with Mitch's hair?" Andrew asks.

"Yeah. It's nice and soft." Jerome and Lisa come in.

"Aww look at Mitch. He looks so cute asleep." Lisa said. We all look at her.

"What it slipped out." Lisa said.

"I totally agree with you."

"When did Mitch get here?" Jerome asks.

"He been here since Echo came in. He's really tired so just let him sleep if you need him Jerome." Jerome leaves.

"What did the doctor say about Echo?" Lisa asks.

"Only Mitch knows. We don't know anything. He does."

"Wake him up then." Lisa said. I wouldn't do that. I seen Mitch without sleep or wake up too early and he can be grouchy.

"That's like waking up a angry bear. Mitch is grouchy if you wake him up."

"Is he not a morning person?" Andrew asks.

"No he is not. He hates waking up early in the morning to train recruits or if I wake him up cause he needs to be up. I wake up Mitch a lot cause he is still asleep when I wake up."

"When do you usually wake him up?" Lisa asks.

"Like around 9:30ish. I have to wake up at eight for training. But I let Mitch sleep cause he needs to train recruits around 10:30ish."

"Is that why he is always late?" Lisa asks.

"Before we started dating Mitch was always late for a lot of thing cause he would oversleep. But since we have he's had more sense of time." Lisa looks surprise.

"O my god it's a miracle. Mitch actually having a sense of time. We have made history. All we have to do is get Andrew to make Echo have a sense of time." Lisa said.

"Wait what?" Andrew asks.

"But Andrew is never here. It runs in their family Andrew. They have no sense of time and are not morning people."

"I beg to differ I seen Echo up before 9:30." Lisa said.

"She gets to things on time sometimes but most things she's late cause of overslept." The doctor and a nurse come in.

"I'm just surprise Mitch actually wakes up most of the time." The doctor said.

"If it's important and Mitch knows it he'll get up but if it isn't he won't get up immediately." The doctor and nurse check on Echo. I have always loved playing with Mitch's hair. He doesn't have curly hair which is a bummer then he would have corkscrews which are fun to mess with. The doctor and nurse leave.

"I bet you love waking up Mitch." Lisa said.

"Yeah he looks so cute asleep and sometimes when he goes to bed he doesn't wear a shirt but that rarely happens." I wish it would happen more often.

"Be quiet and let him sleep." Lisa said. I don't say anything. I smile. I think this is the first time Mitch has ever slept in my lap. It's usually the other way around. I stop playing with his hair. I look at Echo. When will she and Sky wake up?
