Daniel has moved

She said Daniel has moved away. I stood at that exact Spot for  few minutes in order to get my thoughts together, it was more like me trying to put the woman words together.

Young lady are you okay, yes ma I replied thanks for the information. I walked towards the gate leading out of Daniel's house a thousand thought swirling in my head , my thought was disoriented. I couldn't still believe what the woman said , I wanted to go back to his house and Knock on the door till he answers me.

I could feel tears rolling down my cheeks. I tried to hold them to stop them from falling but the more I tried the more I could feel the damp breaking and the more I cried.

I ran home not wanting to think about what just happened , not wanting to hear those exact words" DANIEL HAS MOVED AWAY" but the more I tried to block the voice the more it echoed.

I got home went in through the back door in order to avoid anybody asking me about Daniel or about how my day went but it was off no use , my mom was sitted in the living room when I walked in .

Lucy dear how was your day? good evening mom I replied; my mom gave me a strange look more like a confused look mixed with a worried look.

Lucy I asked how your day went, don't want to talk about it I replied;

I ran up the stairs walked through the hallway and headed to my room , I opened the door, got in and closed it after me.

I sat on my bed and I let out a heavy sigh;" I couldn't still believe that Daniel left without telling me , I was so angry and also so sad cause I just lost my best friend well my only friend and to make things worst I couldn't tell him how I  felt towards him, how I secretly crushed on him since we became best friends , how I loved every moments we shared together".

I was interrupted by a knock on my door which brought me out of my deep thought.

Who is it?

Well if I knew who it was will I be asking, such a stupid way to reply me back. I stood up from my bed searched for the key on the floor and opened the door.

It was mom, she walked in before I could even say come in, she sat on the couch next to my bed and I sat next to her.

There was this awkward silence as we kept staring at each other,then mom decided to talk.

Lucy... She stopped talking and everywhere went awkwardly silent again then she proceeded.
Lucy are u alright mom asked ,she looked worried and the last thing I will want to do is to get my mom worried,I am alright mom, I said as I stood up moving to the other side of the room inorder to avoid making eye contact with my mom.

Mom walked towards me placing her hands on my shoulder, I  turned around and our eyes met.

Well what I was avoiding later happened, I didn't know what happened but I could feel my body had the mind of its own. I felt tears running down my cheeks, I couldn't stop it from falling I just allowed it to keep coming out as I hugged my mom while placing my head on her shoulder.

It is okay baby, you can tell me what wrong, I didn't want to get my mom more worried that she was already so I decided to tell her everything.

I started from how I developed a certain likeness for Daniel and how I hid it away from him in order to keep our friendship from being broken but how he will never know I ever liked him cause he has moved away without telling me.

I hugged my mom tighter to the point she couldn't breath

Luc...y, Lucy dear I can't breath you are hugging too tight, I am sorry mom I didn't know what happened I just got to overwhelmed. It okay dear you don't need to explain, I known how you feel, I know you are hurting inside.

I left my mom and went towards the window to catch my breath. I felt my mom's hand caressing through my hair,I could feel she was close to me so I just decided to keep staring at the window than looking at her.

Lucy what about we move to another town, mom asked;
I turned around quickly on hearing my mom's question.

I know you will find it hard to leave here for a new town but I think it will help... Yes mom I will love too, I interrupted my mom before she could complete her words.

Yes mom I will like to move to a new town,to start my life afresh.
