It was a fine day on the Mars facility, doing the routine patrols but then the news of earth came in. I sat looking down at the data pad flickering peices of film showed the destruction of earth. A hand rested on my shoulder it was Liara we had become good friends since she came to Mars. I'd been her personal guard.
"Macey, it's alright. I'm sure Shepard will find a way to defeat the reapers." Liara said her voice like honey on a parched throat. I nodded, standing up.
"I better help Wilis patrol." I said taking the M-Carfinex hand cannon, M-8 avenger and Viper Sniper-Rifle. Liara stood too she had her M- Shuriken machine gun in her hand and her M-Carfinex hand cannon hidden under her coat.
I walked over to the door and put my helmet on then made sure the air was filtering through it. I sighed and walked over to the squad waiting for me.
"Bout Damn time Alenko!" Damien yelled to me. I let out a laugh and pushed him.
"Just like how your last date stood you up." I nudged him with my elbow playfully. I shot me a glare and huffed.
"Come on you two let's go." Telani commanded. I nodded and retrieved my pistol from my side and walked next to the Telani. We made our way up the hill, all of us joking around Telani was saying.
"So Macey got your eye on anyone-"
"Uh no-" I interrupted her. She laughed and shrugged.
'Thud' All of Damien dropped blood spurting from his neck. Telani and I dove under the vehicles at the top of the hill 2 more thuds made me look around Telani fell short blood spurting from the side of her Helmet. Jerry was dead too. They were all dead, people I had been with for about 2 years. Dead. I peered over the wall I was crouched behind and took a shot at whoever was killing my friends but as I pulled the trigger a bullet lodged itself into my shoulder. I let out a hoarse cry as an excruciating pain shot through me. I threw my hand over my shoulder trying to keep the air in. I crawled to Telani's body and took a patch and put it over the hole. Letting out ragged breaths I leaned against the small wall. I watched as two of the soldiers walked over they had Cerberus markings on their armor. Shit. I thought. Then threw a ball of dark energy at them. They dodged and laughed.
"Who is this?" One asked his omni tool scanned over me.
"Lieutenant Commander Macey Alenko. Younger sister of Major Kaiden Alenko." One said.
"Yes. Joined the alliance before your brother and stationed at mars. Obviously, previously engaged to Jenkins of the Normandy SR-1, he died in action. Unable to do her job after that she was sent to a mental facility on Menae Palavens largest moon. Later sent to Mars and now we find her here with us." The other said a female holding a sniper rifle.
"Go to hell!" I spat at them. They chuckled and one grabbed my uninjured arm and pulled me down to where the remaining people were. They stopped and started to throw people onto their knees I peered down the line of people. There was 4 people before me from the armor patterns it looked like, Danny, Stella, Dalton and John. Hands threw my head foreward.
'Bang' Danny's gone. 'Pow' Stella's gone. 'Boom' Daltons gone. 'Pop' John's gone. Now it's gonna be me. I closed my eyes waiting for the flash of pain but before that could happen a loud bang echoed through the air. There was a thud beside me and I rolled looking to see the Cerberus agent dead the others dropping like flies. I threw a barrier up around myself as bullets threw up dust around me. Not but 10 minutes later all of the fighting had stopped. I let the barrier drop and I watched the People walk toward me. They were Hazy.
"Commander she is still alive. But we can fix her would until we get inside." A male voice said.
"Okay. Pick her up." A female voice said. I felt myself being picked up I threw my hand out making a barrier around me and the man who held me.
"This Chica don't give up." The same guy voice said. I chuckled as I was put against a wall. The room depressurized and my helmet was taken off along with my chest plate and arm guards. They applied medi-gel and soon my vision was cleared a dark haired guy and dark brown haired woman talked. While a muscular guy with a scar on his face leaned over me.
"Hey guys she's finally awake!" The guy called to his friends.
"What's your name soldier?" The dark haired woman commanded.
" Lieutenant Commander Macey Alenko." I said saluting the best I could.
"Oh god Macey I didn't know you went to mars. It's me Kaiden!" I sighed and reached out for Kaiden. He hugged me and pulled back.
"You know Commander Allison Shepard and this is Lieutenant James Vega." I saluted Allison and James.
"Nice to meet you." I said.
"We could really use the help here." Shepard said motioning to the dead Cerberus agents. I nodded and hauled myself up.
"Okay Shepard no way. Macey shouldn't help." Kaiden said.
"Good thing she won't have too." Said a voice and Liara walked up.
"Have James take her back to your shuttle. She is very good and flying a shuttle." Liara said.
"You heard her James." Shepard Said.
James let out a groan and I shot him a glare as we walked towards the shuttle.
