Elena was in the car on the way back home with her parents. It was a dark and foggy night. The father and mom always worked so hard so it was nice that they went camping. Elena asked both of her parents if they could turn up the radio since her favorite song was playing. It was a long drive back home and they had to cross the bridge since the normal road was closed. Elena was singing along to the song when the car started to swerve slightly. Elena asked her dad if he was okay and he said "yeah, sorry, just a bit tired is all." Elena's mom Julie was dead asleep on the passenger side of the car. Elena softly yawn and started to fall asleep. Shortly 10 minutes later, she could hear some screaming and notice the car started to sink into the river. Elena screamed and held onto her parents hands. The car slowly went under the water and blackness over took Elena's vision.

A few days later Elena work up in the hospital. The sheriff and her daughter was next to her hospital bed. "Hey Lucy.." her voice was horse since she hasn't drank any water since the accident. Lucy had tears going down her cheeks "You're okay..thank god, I thought I was going to loose my best friend.." Elena smiled a little and sat up. "Where are my parents?" she asked and looked at the sadness in the Sheriff's eyes. "Mrs. Redfox..w-what's going on? Please tell me they are okay?" Elena focused her eyes on Lucy's mom. Sheriff Redfox looks down "I'm sorry Elena, your parents are dead." She looked at her best friend and her mom "No..it's not true..please..tell me it's not true.." Sheriff Redfox frowns "I wish I could Elena..but it's the honest truth." Elena started to cry in her friend's arm. It didn't feel real at all, it felt like a dream that she wanted to wake up from, but couldn't.

Elena got discharged a few days after being checked up by the doctors. Lucy picked her up and took her to her Aunt Lynn's house. Her Aunt Lynn was going to be her adoptive mom now. She hope that she wasn't going to be a burden to her aunt and her son Gray. Elena hugged her friend and got out of the car, she was greeted by both Lynn and Gray. She hugged them both and they took her inside. Kyle took her things up to her new room as she sat down on the couch. Elena closed her eyes and that night flashed before her eyes to the car going down into the river. Aunt Lynn then spoke "Elena..Elena..you okay?" Elena opened her eyes and nods.

Elena got up after excusing herself; she went out the front door and went on a walk. She needed the fresh air to calm her nerves down. Elena felt so much pain and sorrow that her parents were now gone. She never planned a funeral before and she had no clue what to say when that day comes. Elena knew one thing and that's to get back into school as soon as possible with her two bffs; Lucy and Lisanna. She continued her walk and seen a few of her classmates on the way. Elena eventually headed back to her aunts house for dinner. She sat down and started to eat silently when her aunt asked her "Are you ready for your parents funeral?" Kyle looked at his mom and spoke quietly "You should of never brought that up mom.." Elena sighed deeply " No I haven't..and I don't think I would like too right now. Can we please not talk about it.." Aunt Lynn nods and they continued dinner quietly.

Elena got up and started the dishes; she had to distract her mind. She finished the dishes and went upstairs to her new room and started to unpack her things. Elena started to organize everything and shortly after everything had a place. She took her diary out and opened to a fresh new page, she wrote the date and the events that took place. A few single tears went down her cheeks but she wiped them away. Elena didn't want to be known as the girl who lost her parents but she knew it would happen sooner or later. It ended up being sooner then she expected, until then she remained in denial.
