It was the happiest Nabi had felt in a while as she brushed her long, dark hair in the mirror. Mark's voice roamed around the room as she didn't avoid his songs on purpose anymore. Their kiss-and-make-up moment turned out better than she had hoped and it was almost like they never argued. It was new to her because every time she and her exs argued, it would go on and on and things never really got back to normal - or did but not for long. She really had no doubt in mind that Mark and her were soulmates and would be able to overcome everything on their way.
The night was a bit colder than she thought so she instantly regretted not taking a hoodie or a jacket. The excitement for what she had planned took over her mind and she wasn't thinking practically.
Her legs swung as she sat on top of monkey bars that kids could swing from and move across, something every child did at least once. The wind messed with Nabi's hair but she couldn't care less, her eyes were only looking for her soulmate who was about to come any second.
She glanced down at her wrist watch and smiled wider when it was almost 2am. Her eyes finally noticed the person she so eagerly wanted to see so she waved excitedly. Mark chuckled and shook his head, walking over to the girl. He looked up from the ground and asked "That's an usual time for a date, babe."
"Any time is good if it means having you to myself for a little while."
Mark couldn't help but smile at her response and he nodded, pulling himself up the thing to join his girlfriend. A quick peck painted Nabi's lips and the two smiled to each other like a couple that had just started dating at that exact moment. It almost felt like they were teenagers in love and they didn't mind at all.
"Remember this place?"
"Of course, how could I not? This is where you complained about Xiaojun back then."
Nabi hit Mark's arm once he laughed mentioning that situation. "Yes, but! That's also where we hung out for the first time outside of my flower shop."
He nodded. "I guess you could say this was the beginning of our journey."
Their eyes smiled along with their lips as butterflies filled both their stomachs."It's crazy how everything turned out."
Mark hummed in response and grabbed Nabi's hand, squeezing it gently in result. They shared a quick quiet, yet not awkward, moment, just looking up at the night sky and admiring the only few visible stars.
"Come on, I have another surprise."
The boy furrowed his brows as Nabi jumped down from the monkey bars. "Another one?"
"Yup. Come on!" She waved her hands, gesturing for him to quickly jump down as well.
About five minutes later, they reached a secluded part of the park where a basket laid on a blanket. Mark glanced at Nabi with big, surprised, boba eyes to what she only smiled, walking towards the said spot. Before they sat down, Mark pulled her by the arm and she landed in his arms. He hugged her tight and she immediately melted in his embrace, enjoying his arms around her.
"This is really sweet, thank you."
Nabi smiled to herself as Mark still hugged her tight. "No need to thank me, baby. I wanted to do something nice for you, for us, before you leave for the tour."
"You're so special, you know that?"
"Stop, you're going to make me cry. I really wasn't a crybaby until I met you. I don't know what you bring out in me."
The boy chuckled and kissed her lips. "Sorry." He shrugged teasingly.
The next hour was filled with laughter, mostly because Nabi had put a little too much salt in one of the dishes she prepared though Mark - being the most loving person she has ever known - ate it all despite frowning every time he took a bite. She couldn't believe how lucky she was to have finally found someone like him, someone so genuine, caring, admirable and attractive on top of that.
"I'm so proud of you." Nabi suddenly blurred out, making Mark chuckle and almost choke on the salty food. The girl laughed and patted his back "You don't have to eat that, really! Let's go get something else. My treat!"
He shook his head. "No, this is perfect." He hit his own chest few times as he finally swallowed and took a deep breath. "I can't believe I'm going on a tour, like? What?" His voice went high, making him look so adorable in Nabi's eyes.
"I know! It all happened so fast. I knew people would love you instantly as soon as you got the exposure you deserved, and I was right." She smiled proudly.
Mark's lips curled up upon seeing her proud expression and hearing the kindest words. "Thanks, babe. It means a lot."
Nabi was giving him all the support he had ever wanted to receive from his other half. His ex, Jiu, on the other hand, was a person who didn't support his dreams nor believed he'd make it at all. He shook his head at the memory of wasting so much time and feelings on someone like Jiu, who also tried to ruin his reputation and new relationship.
After the company's and Mark's statements, she threatened to expose that Mark actually did have a girlfriend in secret and sadly, the company had to deal with her the not-so-nice way and a lawsuit was thrown her way. It was a topic already talked through with Nabi who hated the girl's guts even more."There's one more thing." She said after showering him with multiple compliments about his talent and rising career.
Mark raised his brows and smirked suspiciously. "What else did you come up with?"
"I want to take a picture together. A selfie, whatever. I just want to remember this and go back to it as often as I want."
The boy smiled softly and he felt his whole body heat up. He nodded "Sure, baby." and posed as soon as Nabi raised her phone up.
They did multiple poses - in one he cupped her face, in the second one she did the same, in another he kissed her cheek and almost giggled at how a blush covered her cheeks immediately. The two weren't the only ones taking pictures.
