-Adam Pov-
As I stood at the doorway, suspicion crept up my spine.
The locked door and Jacob's evasive response raised my concerns, but I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Adam-Sweetie, is it the sickness?
I asked, my voice laced with worry.
Y/n's muffled groan only heightened my paternal instincts.
Adam-Thank you, Jacob. I'll take Vicky, which means you'll be alone with her for a while. Think you can handle it?
I inquired, hoping Jacob would prove himself worthy of the responsibility.
J-Of course, sir. I'll take good care of her
Jacob replied, a hint of amusement in his tone.
Satisfied with his response, I ushered Vicky, Sonya, and Marissa out of the yacht, onto the helicopter into town
Intent on handling some business matters.

As we strolled through town, I spotted an old friend, Daniel Chen
A renowned company director, accompanied by his four burly bodyguards.
Adam-Mari look who it is!
Mari-oh my gosh-no way!
V-dad u know them?
Vicky asked holding Sonya's hand a bit petrified
Adam-yea cmon let's go over to say hi. They aren't as scary as they look
We go over and I called out to him
Adam-Daniel! What a pleasant surprise
I exclaimed, embracing the man warmly. Marissa and Sonya perked up, their eyes gleaming with interest at the prospect of mingling with the successful businessman.
His guards was about to stop us until he stopped them
Dan-Ain't no way- Adam, my old friend! It's been too long. Marissa you have gotten even more beautiful since I last saw you.
Mari-And single
Dan-you both are divorced?
He said in shock
Dan-That is sad to hear, but u really do look amazing.
Mari-U always had a way with words
Adam-you can take her off my hands if u want
Mari-Shut up-
Dan-I could.
Daniel responded, his deep voice resonating with genuine delight.
I didn't know how to feel about that. Yea we aren't married anymore but Daniel is a friend who has been there since Yn was a child.
And i don't know if sheets ready to be in another relationship anyway
