I apologize for my inability to make the characters seem in character. As of now, I am working on my skills to make my fan fictions better, enjoy!
"Luce!" Natsu screamed as he dropped the suitcases he was carrying, making a loud thud against the hardwood stairs. Natsu escalated up a few steps just in time to catch Lucy.
Happy had awoken from his place in Lucy's arms, but Natsu got to her first.
Mio came running up in worry, "What happened?" She asked, as the noise of something hitting the ground had alarmed her greatly. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw Lucy in the arms of Natsu, safely, but sleeping. Mio placed a hand to her chest in alleviation.
"She's just really tired is all. Sorry for the loud noise," Natsu grinned at Mio, lifting Lucy up into his arms, and started to the room.
"Oh... Do you need help? With your things, I mean," Mio asked. Happy nodded at her and pickled up what he could.
Mio pickled up the rest of the luggage. For a small girl, she was quite strong since she was used to carrying customer belongings a lot.
They walked to the room. The hardwood floors creaked under their weight. The walk was silent, though it took only less than a minute to near the door.
"Thanks," Natsu acknowledged, directed towards Mio. He unlocked the door and placed Lucy down onto the awaiting bed, and then continuing to help Mio with the baggage.
"Oh, uh... That's alright. This is my job, so it's okay" Mio said sheepishly.
Happy had already flown into the room with the suitcase he could carry, and placed it in the corner of the room where Natsu placed his things. Soon enough the rest of Lucy's belongings were placed along with it.
Happy arranged himself at the foot of the bed, under some blankets. The blue exceed was sound asleep.
Mio left a couple of minutes later , and Natsu closed the door. The room had creme walls and some dark brown crown molding for contrast. The room was adorned with a single gold-framed painting, and a white nightshade sat on a bedside table nearest to Lucy.
Moonlight oozed through the window on the farther edge of the room, giving her an ethereal glow. The soft moonlight reflected off of Lucy's cheekbones and forehead.
Natsu was exhausted. He laid himself down next to Lucy, and pulled the blanket up over their bodies. Natsu closed his eyes, as he waited for sleep to take over. The sudden movement woke up Lucy. She stirred and turned over to her side, slowly opening her eyes. She opened them up into thin slits to see Natsu with his eyes closed. This was nothing to her. On missions with Erza, Gray, and Wendy, there would be the occasional time when she would have to be sandwiched between Natsu and Gray because Erza refused to have Wendy sleep in the same bed with the two saying, "She's far too innocent, and much too young. I don't want her to be dirtied by sleeping with you two," or if Erza just wasn't in the mood to sleep in the same bed with either of them.
"...Natsu...?" Lucy breathed, between the small space amidst their faces. Lucy lifted a hand to her face and rubbed at her eyes sleepily.
Upon hearing Lucy speak, Natsu opened his eyes, "Hmm...?" He stared at her for a couple of seconds before she spoke.
"How-" Lucy was cut off abruptly.
"How did you pass out? Didn't you sleep on the train?" Natsu questioned her.
"Oh... Ehehehhehehhe..." Lucy chuckled sheepishly, "I couldn't sleep well last night because I was waiting for the new Sorcerer Weekly magazine..." Lucy yawned.
"Pffftttttttt... Ahhaahahhahahhha!" Natsu laughed, trying to contain his loud, boisterous laughter. Lucy, on impulse, placed a hand over his mouth.
"Shush!" She hushed. She removed her hand only to find him smiling widely.
"Alright," Natsu bit his lip, drawing Lucy's attention for a split second. Immediately, she returned her focus to his eyes.
She pouted, "What? I was excited to see the cover with Yukino and me," Lucy stated in and exhausted manner.
"Yeah, alright. Well, I'm going to sleep now because we have to guard the city tomorrow," Natsu breathed, his voice scratchy. He rolled over onto his side, his back facing Lucy, while Lucy did the same.
The night was quiet. Only very few cricket chirps were heard, and the wind resulted in the leaves rustling from trees and bushes nearby, but nothing other than that was making any other noises that Lucy could depict. Natsu, on the other hand had heightened hearing, so he heard what the average person couldn't.
Rustling of bed sheets was heard before a voice sounded, "...Goodnight Natsu," Lucy mumbled sleepily.
"...Night Luce..." Natsu mumbled back.
I apologize for the boring story, but I haven't written a matured story in a while, so it will take some time getting used to. I hope if you were reading this, the story didn't bore you too much. Until the next chapter :)
