Y/N Cara is one of the most powerful witches of her generation. And everyone knows it, including the Dark Lord himself.  He has recruited the young witch to help him, for right now, by being a spy within Hogwarts.

It is also Matteo's time to shine.  This will be his first time attending the school as a 5th year, under a fake name of course.  Matteo Smith.  The two know nothing about each other, but are about to.

Y/N sits in the train compartment with Draco, Theo, Blaise, and Daphne.  She spins her wand in-between her fingers, staring out the window.  Upon hearing the door open, her head snaps over, finding the most attractive boy she's ever seen.

"Matteo," Draco smirks, greeting the boy.

"Malfoy," the boy nods, glancing around the compartment.  His eyes linger on Y/N for a bit before returning to the blonde boy.

"Take a seat," Draco gestures to the space in-between Y/N and Daphne, the one that is saved for Pansy.

Matteo smirks slightly, sitting beside the two girls.  Y/N rolls her eyes, returning her attention back to the scenery outside.

"You know Blaise and Theo.  She's Daphne, and that is Y/N," Draco introduces for them.

She hears the boy beside her make a small 'hmm' sound in acknowledgment.  They sit in an uncomfortable silence, but not for long as the door opens once again.

"I'm back-oh," Pansy frowns, finding her seat to be taken.

"Sorry Pansy, hope you don't mind.  That's Matteo," Draco says, not sounding sorry at all.

"And where am I supposed to sit?" the girl pouts slightly.

"Right here, darling," Matteo smirks, patting his knee.

Y/N scoffs from beside him, catching everyone's attention.

"Got something to say Cara?" Theo raises his eyebrows.

"Just that not even Pansy is thick enough to fall head over heels for an idiot like him," Y/N speaks, not withholding her opinion.

"If I were you, I watch your mouth," Matteo speak darkly.

"Mhm, so should you," the girl rolls her eyes, standing and grabbing the two girls, pulling them out of the compartment.  "I already hate him".

"I think he's quite charming," Pansy says in a sing-song voice.

Daphne rolls her eyes, "He has said one sentence to you".

Of course, with Matteo being who he is, he is naturally sorted into Slytherin.  He smirks proudly, taking a seat next to Y/N, who doesn't even look at him.  She rolls her eyes at his presence, listening to the new Professor, Umbridge, give her speech.

"Y/N, is it true you're not rejoining the team this year?" Theo questions once the feast begins.

"I don't have time for it anymore," Y/N shrugs, looking at her friend.

"Oh, come on.  Everyone has time for Quidditch.  And you're one of our best players!" Theo pouts slightly.

"I hate to say it, but Theo's right, Cara.  We need you on the team.  As quidditch captain, I am making you stay," Draco huffs proudly.

"You can't tell me what to do.  But I'll reconsider it since the Draco Malfoy is begging me to return," Y/N rolls her eyes.

"I was not begging," Draco scowls.

"You kind of were, mate," Matteo pipes up from beside her.

A small smirk forms on Y/N's face, glancing to him.  When he notices her looking, he smirks, causing hers to fade, rolling her eyes.

"Where do you think you're going?" Matteo cocks an eyebrow as the girl stands.

"None of your business.  Why do you care?" Y/N raises an eyebrow, matching him.  "Daphne, you're nice.  Follow me".

Daphne furrows her brows confused, but follows her friend to the Gryffindor table.  The commotion starts to die down as everyone begins looking at the two girls with curious eyes.  Y/N makes them quickly look away, though, by sending a glare that could kill.

"Hi Hermione!" Y/N says cheerfully, putting on a fake smile.

"Cara? Uh hi..." Hermione furrows her brows, clearly confused.

"Hi Harry, hi Ron," Y/N keeps her friendly smile.  "Hermione, I was wondering if you would like to be study buddies this year?"

"What are you doing?" Daphne whispers in her friends ear.

Y/N ignores her, waiting for an answer from Hermione.

"What are you playing at?" Ron narrows his eyes.

"I'm just being friendly, Ron.  Is that a problem?  Not all Slytherins are bad, you know.  And I do apologize on behalf of what Draco has done to you all.  If I'm being honest, he gets on my nerves a lot as well," Y/N explains, trying to keep her friendly façade up.

"Right...well I um-I will let you know," Hermione answers wearily.

"Perfect! I'll see you in class," Y/N waves to the golden trio, making her way back to the Slytherin table.

"What the bloody hell was that all about?" Daphne questions.

"The Dark Lord gave me a task," Y/N whispers, making sure no one else can hear.  "I need to get close to Potter so I can provide the Dark Lord with information about what's going on.  The easiest way to go that is through Granger.

"Woah.  That's wicked," Daphne grins, proud of her friend.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go speak to Professor Snape about something," Y/N says, leaving the table once again.

She makes the walk to his office, glancing behind her constantly to ensure no one is behind her.

"Hello Professor," Y/N greets after being granted the access to enter.

"Ah, Ms. Cara.  What is the reasoning of your visit?" Snape questions.

"I have a request.  Well, more of a demand.  Do you know about my duties I need to fulfill for the Dark Lord?" Y/N whispers, even though they are in the privacy of his office.

"Yes, I am aware," Snape nods.

"I need to be sat next to Granger in potions," Y/N says.

"Why not next to Potter?" Snape makes a valid point.

"I feel that it will be easier to get closer with Granger than with Potter.  And with her being the only girl in that group, she will be more willing to spill any details happening to me.  Girl to girl," Y/N explains.

"Right, of course.  Consider it done," Snape nods in understanding.

Before Y/N can thank him, another knock comes at the door.  Snape opens it, revealing Matteo.

"Am I interrupting something?" he asks cockily.

"I was just leaving," Y/N looks at him, questioningly, and narrows her eyes.  "Thank you, Professor".

As she exits, she roughly bumps into the boys shoulder, causing him to roll his eyes.
