Matteo and Y/N remain in bed for longer than anticipated, just enjoying each others company.
"It's almost time for dinner," Matteo speaks softly, breaking the silence.
"I know," Y/N sighs.
"What did my father want to talk with you about?"
"Um, it was nothing. Just...thanking me for the help," Y/N looks down.
"He thanked you?" Matteo raises his eyebrows, not believing it.
Before Matteo's suspicions could be raised further, the shrill voice of Bellatrix cackles downstairs.
"Matteo! Y/N!"
The boy sighs, getting out of bed, "Now what?"
The two enter the parlor, finding some unexpected guests. Two boys are being held by deatheaters, while Bellatrix is leaning over a girl. Y/N peers over the woman's shoulder to see who she is torturing, and her eyes grow wide. Matteo's eyes flicker between the two, him quickly taking Y/N's hand and pulling her away from the painful situation.
Eventually, Bellatrix leaves Hermione alone, crying on the floor, and directs her attention to the two boys, "Y/N, Matteo. We need you to see if this is Harry Potter".
Matteo steps forward and Bellatrix wraps her arms around him in an attempt to be motherly. He stares at the boy before him. Y/N can tell he is going through an internal battle.
"I cannot tell," he speaks after quite some time.
"Fine then. Y/N, you try. Surely you'll know, you dated the boy," Bellatrix pushes Matteo away, grabbing Y/N.
Y/N bites the inside of her lip, clearly growing nervous. The boy looks up at her, with almost pleading eyes. It's him, and she knows it's him.
"I...don't believe it's him," Y/N shakes her head slightly.
Bellatrix scowls, clearly not the answer she was hoping for. Before anyone can move, Harry stands, making his great escape.
"Way to go, Y/N!" Bellatrix scowls angrily, approaching the girl.
Matteo quickly steps in front of her, giving Bellatrix a stern look. The woman huffs, starting to walk away.
"You're going back to Hogwarts. Pack your things".
Y/N and Matteo merely nod, heading upstairs without a word. Y/N follows the boy to his room, shutting the door behind her. She stands there for a moment, not saying a word for a couple seconds.
"You knew," she finally whispers.
Matteo doesn't respond, merely glancing up at her. This is a response in its own way.
"Thank you," she says again.
"Come on. We have to go," he says, handing her a trunk.

The return to Hogwarts was not a pleasant one. Matteo feels more conflicted than ever, and knows if he makes one wrong move, it could be the end of everything. The end of her. Voldemort sent them to Hogwarts with a new missions, to ensure Harry does not find the diadem. Matteo, Y/N, Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle arrive to the room of requirement, already finding the golden trio to be there.
"Crucio!" Crabbe yells out suddenly, at Harry.
"Stop! The Dark Lord wants him alive!" Draco attempts to heed the boys actions.
