Days Later
We're still far from Alaska, and our car broke down. "Damn it!" Big Man yelled while trying to fix the car. We flinched when sparks came out. "Gus and I are going to explore.." I said while grabbing his hand. "Alright, be careful." Bear said. "Ok!" We started to run into the field. "Are you still having dreams about Carrot's?" He asked. "For the last 2 days.. I haven't had any." I smiled. "That's good." He smiled back. We were running until we got to the edge of the field. "Look at that big lake!" I looked over. "It's beautiful." Gus smiled. "You're it!" I tagged him and started to run. "Faline!" He smiled and started to chase me. While I was running, something caught my foot. There was a lot of pain and blood. I looked down, "Gus!" I held my leg in pain. "Faline!?" He ran to me. It was a bear trap. "Oh no! I'm going to get Jepp.." He frowned and started to run. From the far distance, there was a person with a shotgun in their arms. I tried to wiggle out of the trap and tried to open it, but it was too hard. "Gus!" I yelled.
The man got closer. "Shhh, it's okay little doe." He smiled. "You're going to be safe." He smiled. "Get away! A big man is coming to kill you if you hurt me!" I yelled. "There's nobody around sugar pie." The man smiled again. "Big Man!" I cried. "Shhh! Or someone will hear you!" He yelled while trying to get me undone from the bear trap. "Let go of her!" I heard Big Man's voice. "Big Man!" I smiled. Big Man had a gun pointing at the man. "Get your crusty hands off of her!" He yelled. "Why should I? She's my dinner, and I found her first." The man smiled. "Let.. go.. of.. her!" He yelled while he shot the man's leg. "Ahh! Okay!" He yelled. Big Man grabbed the bear trap off of me. He picked me up and carried me back to the car. "Faline!" Gus yelled. "I'm alright.." I smiled at him. "We gotta patch you up." Big Man said to me while he put me on the hood of the car. "I didn't expect that to happen." I smiled. "We didn't either." Jepp smiled.
I was done getting patched up and Gus helped me down. "Are you sure that you are alright?" He looked into my eyes. I felt a weird feeling in my stomach when he looked at me. We both kept on looking at each other. I shook my head, "Yes, I'm okay.." I smiled and looked away. He smiled, "I can scent you how you're feeling." My eyes widened and started to feel that weird feeling again. "Well, you're very close to me.." I smiled nervously. He smiled and stepped back just a little. "You like me.." He smirked. "I don't!" I squealed. "Mhm sure..?" He smirked again. He stepped closer to me and got close to my face. "Gus!" My face turned red.
I didn't even step back or him, we just stayed. Bear turned around and saw us. "C'mon, kiss already." She smirked. I turned around, "We're not going to kiss, we were doing an eye stare contest." I smiled. Gus nodded with a smile. It did look like we were going to kiss. "We gotta start walking, this car won't start and I tried everything." Big Man frowned. Gus grabbed my hand and started walking with the others. Wendy kept on watching us holding hands. I think she's jealous.
Alaska
We finally made it to Alaska. It did take us weeks. But I'm not worried about that. Wendy is now giving me death stares. "Wendy... Why do you keep on staring at me?" I asked her. She looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. I walked back to Gus, and he grabbed my hand. "Do you know where your mother is?" I asked. "Yea, we have the map that my Pubba made." He smiled. We followed that map and saw where it could take us. It took us to a lab-like tent. "Mom!?" Gus walked in. I followed behind. Birdie was sitting reading a book. She looked up with wide eyes. "G-Gus?" She ran up to him. She looked beside him to look at me. "Ho-how did you- How are you alive?" She stuttered. "I don't know?" I frowned while crossing my arms. "Who kept you alive? You weren't supposed to be..-" Birdie was shocked.
"I can't tell you how I'm alive. But I can tell you that I love to be alive." I smiled. "Who took care of you?" She asked. "Nobody.." I sighed. "Question!" Bear asked. Birdie looked up, "What's your question?" She asked. "Is Faline and Gus related?" She asked. "No, they have different DNA." Birdie replied. "I made Faline with Gus in the same incubator, but I didn't expect for her to be alive. But I kept checking her egg to see if there was any sign of life, but there wasn't, but after weeks there was life in that egg." Birdie explained. "You should be happy, because now Gus can have a girlfriend to have kids with." Bear smiled. Birdie smiled, "Well, you could put it like that." Gus and I looked at each other.
