"They must have left already for the interview," I said after we entered the makeup room.
"Probably," said Kirk while he was looking around.
"I think I should go home. They don't need me anymore. I'll go tell them. Do you want to come? You can go watch her as Rachel does." I asked him to make sure that he won't be bored here.
"Yeah, I don't have anything else to do." I must agree with him. This place is boring. It's a smaller room that has 2 makeup tables with chairs and some shelves for my and Rachel's stuff. Nothing interesting.
"Okay, I'll pack my things and we can go," I smiled at him. I started to pack when Kirk interrupted me. "Do you... really have to leave?" He asked shyly, scratching his neck. "It'll be probably boring here when I won't have someone to talk to." He added. That made me blush instantly, but I was trying my best to hide it.
"You'll be fine! You have Sara here!" I tried to say something positive.
He gave me a small smile. Was he really enjoying my company? No Jan it's definitely just too boring here.
"Yeah, I guess..." was all he said.
I packed and we made our way to the studio. I showed him some posters on the walls with horror movies and he loved it! He found his favorite. Dracula. The original one, without sound. I didn't say anything. Should I tell him? I was asking myself in my mind. Definitely.
"Hey Kirk!" I looked at him with a smirk on my face. " Wanna know something?" I asked with a smile.
"Does that 'something' have to do with horrors?"
"Mhm" I couldn't hold it anymore, but a huge smile appeared on my face.
"TELL ME!" He almost screamed and I chuckled.
"Did you know that this film was made in my country?" I pointed at the Dracula poster.
"WAIT WHAT?!" He didn't believe me at first.
"Yeah! Well, parts of it." I laughed. Some scenes. But it's written in the books, how doesn't he know?
"NO WAY!! Now you're even more cooler!" He said too loudly that he stayed silent now.
"Well, thank you!" I said trying my best to act normal. Because HOLLY SHIT, KIRK THINKS I'M COOL!
It's nice to have a friend here. Especially when I'm an outlander. It feels like it's starting to be my new home.
Kirk is really sweet and kind. I thought he'd like every rockstar. Mean, with a big ego, and just flirts with every girl he sees. But not really, I mean I don't know that side of him if he has it. Not yet.
We slowly started to walk to the studio, while Kirk was looking at every poster we passed by. It felt like we were in the gallery. He always told me if he knew that movie or actors. Sometimes a fun fact that I didn't know about it. When we reached the studio, I opened the door and saw that Sara had a break and now is talking with one of the people, I didn't even know they worked here.
"Hey Sara," I interrupted their conversation, "do you have a minute?"
"Sure, what's up?" She asked.
"I think I'll go home now I need some things to do. It's already lunchtime and you don't need me here." I told her.
"Okay then. See you tomorrow." She agreed. "Yes, see you tomorrow." I replied and made my way to Rachel who was sitting on one of the chairs for celebrities and drinking her diet Coke.
She looked at me confused, when she saw me, why I'm packed already. "Jan, where you going?" She asked.
"Home. I need some things to do and they don't need me here." I replied, looking around to see how many people were there. Everyone was busy.
"Oh okay, I'll miss you. You're leaving me here with these weirdos. " we laughed. "Hey, do you want to come over tonight? We can go out or watch something." She asked.
"Yeah, sure! That sounds good!" I smiled. This is the first time someone has asked me this since I left the country. "Amazing! You have my phone number so we'll call each other before." She said excitedly.
I said bye to her and made my way to the exit when Kirk hopped in my way. "So you're leaving?" He asked, looking at the ground.
I nodded.
"I'll try to come tomorrow and we can talk again if you want," he said, this time he looked up at me into my eyes.
"Sure! I'd love to!" I said. "I know this is risky but give me your hand." I told him and he does how I said. I took my eyeliner pencil out of my bag and wrote my number on his hand. Small, that Sara won't notice, but still so he could read it.
"There. My phone number. Don't let Sara see it!" I joked whispering but made a serious look.
"Okay," he replied whispering and chuckling too.
"See you then!" I said and walked through the exit.
"Bye!" He yelled and so did I.
I hopped on the bus and made my way back home to my apartment.
It's old and it has many reasons why not to live there, but it was the only thing I could afford for now. I opened the door, nearly destroyed it because it's hard to open, and closed it.
I sat against the door, wondering what to do now.
