Now that I think of it, he did show some vampire-like tendencies. I usually ignored all of it, no matter how glaringly obvious they were.
One of the most was that one time he laughed—like a legit happy all-teeth-showing laugh—and I noticed two protruding canines that looked terribly inhuman.
I know what you're thinking; Victor, you stupid cunt. You saw his vamp teeth and you thought he was normal?
To which I would reply as; yeah I did, and fuck you too. Maybe he has a vampire fetish, who knows?
Let us review some of his little habits, shall we?
I remember one time during Physical Education, when he was forced to participate in a relay put up together by our coach. He was had his mind firmly set in not joining at all, using reasons like, my stomach hurts or mother doesn't want me meddling with other humans, and when I told the man that Jullian didn't want to get out of the classroom, he went to approach him and moment later Jullian was descending down the stairs with Mr. Carson, who had a smug grin on his face.
"Is your stomach ache gone?"
He clutched his thick jacket more firmly around him and muttered, "I lied about my stomach ache. I never feel physical pain."
Again, I ignored that final statement (which was clearly another warning signal) and the coach made us run a few laps. While all of us needed to sprint eight times, back and forth the stadium, coach allowed Jullian to only jog four times, just in case he had heart problems of whatever more.
Two laps in and Jullian collapsed in the middle of the track.
I was the first one who reached Jullian in my panicked state. His eyes were fluttering shut and he was breathing hard, and I noted in alarm that his unusually pale skin was forming blisters.
Sunburned, was the verdict. We took him to the infirmary (I carried him bridal style, and although our more stronger coach insisted that he would carry him instead, Jullian refused by tightly gripping the front of my shirt and not letting go no matter how much we asked him to) and the nurse slathered a sort of cream all over his face, asking him different questions I didn't half understand. Jullian stayed silent the entire time.
The nurse left to get some prescribed medicine, but before that she asked, "How long was he outside?"
I thought over it, "Ten, fifteen minutes?"
She frowned, muttered, "That's very odd..." and left the room.
"You don't like the sun, huh?" I told Jullian conversationally. He was looking at me with an unwavering stare, positioned on the left side of his body so that he could do so properly without sitting up.
