chapter:- 2 Settling in the new environment

I took in the look of my new house. "Tell me it's mesmerizing without telling me it's mesmerizing" exclaimed Nancy. "Nancy this is beautiful. Oh my god!" I said looking at the beautifully cleaned and settled apartment. All the furniture was already shifted before I travelled here. Everything is new and Nancy really worked on it, 'she is brilliant' I thought. I turned around hugging her "Thank you so much yrr. I could have never arranged everything like this without your help" I said squeezing her in my arms. She hugged me back and said, "Welcome darling" .

Soon we started unpacking everything. I organised my wardrobe and Nacny organised the kitchen. We completed everything for God knows how long. I tieredly yanwed while plopping myself on the sofa. "Hey Nancy are u done there?" I asked tieredly. "Yeah the kitchen is all set. The refrigerator is on but empty" she responded. I hummed in response until she said "Merlins bread Sima!" I crooked my head at her in confusion as she exclaimed in annoyance. "What?" I asked, confused when she said "Have you seen the time yet?" I looked at my watch to see it was 8:45 pm. Realisation hit me hard. "Shit" I excalmied as I stood up from the sofa. "Nancy how are you gonna go to your mess? It's past 8" I said rather irritated on myself for not checking the time earlier. If I checked at least at 7:00pm or 7:30pm I would have insisted for her to leave early so she can reach safely. She looked at me confused. "I'm not worried that I am gonna get a little scolding. I'm worried because we haven't brought any food for you." Nacny said with a somewhat horrified look. "It's not like I'm letting you go to bed on an empty stomach" she exclaimed totally like a mother which made me chuckle a little "she has grown up so much" she looked at me with a scrunched up look "did I say a joke?" She said seriously. I smiled and said "no, indeed not but u know swiggy and Zomato exist, I can really order some food for tonight." Nancy realised that I can just order my food but something on her face told me she wasn't believing me. I sighted "Nancy! I'm gonna eat I promise" . "How did you know what I was thinking?", Nancy asked sounding surprised. I moved a bit closer to her and said in a teasing way "I know you too much isn't it?" She pushed me a bit as she smiled knowing I'm very good at reading people. "Stop it Sima. It's not fair. You are always 1 step ahead of everyone" she exclaimed playfully hitting me on my arm.

I insisted for her to leave and go to her mess safely but she insisted to stay and see me order my food. It took me a bit to convince her that I will order my food and eat, as we both got out of our flat and reach the elevator. I stood there laughing and talking to her as the elevator started moving to our floor.

"You promise me you are gonna eat Sima?" Nancy said still not believing me fully. "Yes mother I promise. I will not let you down" I said doing a dramatic posture. Before she could say something or laugh the elevator arrived and the door opened. A man in a black hoodie, wearing a cap and mask came out. His eyes were covered with a pair of spectacles. This guy was way more taller than me I guess roughly around 5'8-9 . I quickly gave him a side to move before entering the elevator. He glanced at me once before just getting out.

Nancy said after we entered the elevator, "who wears all black in this hot summer?" She said with a small laugh. I just shrugged and said, "you never know gurl!" And we both laughed. Nancy again spoke "well! Seems like you will see the men in black a lot he entered your floor". I just gave her a look of 'shut the fuck up pls' as I rolled my eyes on her saying, "maybe he came to meet someone, you never know and who cares? It's not as if I'm going go talk to him out of the blue moon randomly" she just gave me a smirk in reply not continuing on the topic.

We reached the ground floor and quickly walking out of the complex standing infront of the gate. We quickly managed to get her a rikshaw for her to go to her mess safely. I said, "your location is shared with me I know but still, yrr pauche ke akbar call kardiyo (call me after you reach the mess) she replied, "yess madam I will and please khana order karke khalena (order your food and eat it.) . I nodded to her as she waved me off from the rickshaw, I waved her back.
