CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THREE !

It was around spring time, and it was getting hotter. a lot had been going on. rosita gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, and named her socorro. everybody called her 'coco' for short. they hadn't heard anything from the whisperers for a while, they had moved out, so their focus was on helping the hilltop. since they didn't have any leader after tara and jesus passed, they had been training them all.

negan was allowed out of his cell for a fair few hours a day, which was something estella never thought she'd see. he was helping out around the garden, picking vegetables and stuff. he also looked out for lydia a lot, because the people of alexandria unfortunately weren't the kindest to her.

they had a big training the people of hilltop at oceanside, and had brought some of the children along with them so they could see the ocean for the first time. estella obviously couldn't pass up a rare experience to go to the beach, so she joined the archer team to kill some walkers, before having some fun on the beach.

estella was helping judith find some shells and telling her all about them. she had two buckets full, and had one bucket sitting between her legs as they sorted through them. due to estella just loving all things about the sea, like mermaids and pirates, she was pretty smart when it came to shells and stuff, and sea life.

"what's this one?" judith asked, holding up a shell.

"that's a conch shell. if you hold it to your ear, you can hear waves." she replied, making judith hold it to her ear.

"why does it do that?" she asked, still listening to the sound.

"the shell's shape makes the sound louder and creates an echo. it's not actually the ocean, it's the blood flowing through your ears, but it sounds like it. pretty cool, huh?" estella smiled.

"yeah, i didn't know shells were so cool." judith said, adding it to the bucket of shells they were going to keep so judith could put them in her bedroom as a reminder of her first time at the beach.

"yeah, and this one is a mussel shell. they can live up to fifty years and their shells can tell us how old they are." she explained.

"okay, that one can go in the cool bucket." judith smiled, putting the mussel shell in the bucket and looking for another. "this one is beautiful. what's this?"

"oh, that one's super pretty. that's a abalone shell. i don't have a fun fact about that one, but you should add it to the cool bucket anyways." estella shrugged. judith nodded and added it in.
