Chapter 2

✰𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬✰

Lucky's pov:
The leafs are crunching under my boots each step I take. The smell of wet ground blending in with the breeze of the trees. I open my bag that's resting on my hip. I bring up the map and unfold it, pointing my finger were I'm supposed to be.

I keep walking, my feet starting to go limp and my legs sore from walking for hours. I pick up my phone seeing a missed call from my boyfriend Scott, my fingers hesitate to push the button and call him back. Should I tell him where I'm going, or is this suppose to remain secret?

I push the button, my fingers swiping the screen as I bring the phone up making me see my reflection staring back at me. If I would call him and explain where I'm going ,why not do it on FaceTime, the woods are actually really beautiful anyway.

A few rings and Scott's face were now visible, his tan skin making his dirty blond hair look even more darker. His dark brown eyes piercing into my hazel ones. "What are you doing?" He brings his face closer to the screen narrowing his pretty eyes.

I turn my camera showing of the forest and the map that I'm holding in my hand "guess what?" I turn the camera back to my face as I bit my bottom lip, keeping myself from just rushing out what I'm about to tell him. "Your in the woods..with a map? Since when did you like to camp, or even spending time in the forest?" He was clearly confused.

I keep walking forwards, before me is a tall waterfall, stones with branches twisting around them just besides. I walk towards it as I respond to my boyfriend, telling him all about what my mom have told me and what I'm about to get myself into. How I'm searching for the book by my own.

Now, I realize how much of an idiot I am, me thinking I can get through this all alone with no fighting skills? Yeah, no that won't work. I sat down on a small stone with my phone, Scott's face unreadable, only half of his face showing "sooo? You are trying to find this magic book in the middle of the woods?" A pause. "Really Lucky, I thought you were smarter than that, at least you could have brought me with you, or told me something before you left"

"But it all happened so fast, this morning mom just rushed out things and now I found myself dumbfounded in the forest with no defending skills" I rise up from where I was sitting.

"Not my fault you wouldn't listen and just go to the gym with me, all the excuses you made up like, no I'm reading. Sorry, can't because we have guests over. I'm tired. And then on and on, excuse after excuse, maybe if you would have listen to me and stoped being so lazy you wouldn't have to worry about getting eaten by a bear or something" he shrugged.

"Thank you for supporting me, really nice of you" my sarcasm was clear as he chuckle"sorry baby, you know what I mean, it's just....so unusual to see you all excited about it or to even see you wanting to do this, alone also, maybe you could have told something and maybe I could have followed with you"

"I would love for you to come with...but, it's one thing I always have been wanting to do and I didn't have time to call or anything. Otherwise I promise I would have called you to come with" he only chuckled in respond.

"At least keep your location on so I know where you are in case anything happens, and promise me one thing" He lifted an eyebrow, his face serious.
"What is it" I mumble, already knowing what he'll say.

"Call me for anything, okey. If your scared, sick or whatever. I don't care just give a call I'm always up to answer you" he show his pinkie finger up as I did the same. "I promise" I rolled my eyes.

After sometime of just talking about random things we hung up.

"Now let's see, where were I"
