"Yes, this is Lisa Carter, I would like to hire you for a case." a middle aged woman said on the other side of the phone. "Ok guys we got a case!" he says while covering the phone so that she doesn't hear him. "YEAH!" George says a bit to loud, "Sorry." he mentions.
"Well Mrs. Carter what can we do for you today." Lockwood says very enthusiastically.
"There is ghost in my family's cabin, we went over the weekend to go and stay, but when we got inside black fog flooded out. My daughter Amelia, could her screaming from coming inside." she said with worry. "So, she's talented?" Lockwood asked.
"Yes, but she's too young to be an agent, she's only eight." she replied.
"Okay, thank you for informing me Mrs. Carter, I just need you to tell me the address and we'll be going there in a few hours." he says.
He then hangs up the phone after she him where it is. "George I need you to go down to the archives and find something about the place." Lockwood says as he runs downstairs to get everything packed.
Lucy goes up to her room to get ready herself, they all agreed to meet back in the kitchen around noon.
She goes up to her photos of Norrie and decides to leave a quick recording before she gets downstairs again.
"Hey Norrie, the guys and I are about to go to a creepy cabin in the wilderness and to me it sounds we're about to head right into danger." she says with a bit of worry in her tone.
A knock is heard from the door.
"hey can I come in?" Lockwood says softly.
"Yea sure" she replies.
He enters still in his pajamas and said "How are you doing, are you okay, because you haven't said much since this morning."
"I'm fine, I am really fine, I promise." Lucy says hesitantly
"Like you said back at Winkman's, you can talk to me about anything even if you think you can't, you can." he said with a reassuring smile. It always melts Lucy's heart every time he shows his genuine smile. She doesn't exactly know she feels like that but she's slowly understanding.
On the other hand, Lockwood knows exactly how he feels he's known every since that moment when she helped calm him down. He liked and trusted her, but that was when he knew he didn't just liked her, he loved her and he was sure of it.
He wanted to kiss her when they got up off the ground at the beach, but he realized that it was too soon, he didn't even know if she'd even feel that way about him. He decided that he wants to take his time before he says anything.
"Well its almost 12:00, we should get dressed I'll see you in a few." Lucy said with a polite smile.
Lockwood soon left after she said that and got dressed.
-30 minutes later-
George is back and they're all down in the kitchen, George is trying to explain how there's only every been one death in the cabin. A woman by the name of Emily Collins, she was only the age of 23 when she was found dead in the house in 1999.
"How did she die?" Lucy said.
"Unknown, she was however found with duct tape on her mouth, cloth around her eyes, rope around her hands, and its suspected that she was brought to the cabin and was murdered or left to die." George states.
"Well its time to find out. Come on lets go!" Lockwood said as he was limping towards the door.
"Lock, I don't think you should come with us." Lucy says very worried he's going to hurt himself.
"Luce, I'll be fine I promise." He says will walking out the with no shoes on. "You forgot to put your shoes on, dumbass." George says.
"Oh shit! We'll go as soon as I put my shoes on." Lucy and George starts shaking their heads in disapproval while Lockwood is laughing his ass off.
-Few hours later-
It's around night time. The crew is walking down a path to the cabin and there is this chill in the air and even though it is winter it feels too cold, its too cold.
Once they get there, they open the door, there is a foul stench creeping out. " Ok since I cant do much I will just keep watch." Lockwood says as he lifts his arm and regrets coming in the first place. Lucy and George head inside.
George takes out his thermometer and sees that it is below 10, he tells lucy and she nods. She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes. She hears laughter, children's laughter. Then she hears sobbing and it feels like she's heard it before like she's reliving a horrid memory that she had in her past.
Then they see it, black fog spewing out like blood gushing from a freshly opened wound. George had already set up a iron circle. Lucy pulled out her rapier and started swishing it around like it was a wand. It was a type two ghost, a Changer, something that has always terrified Lucy.
She then remembers why it feels so familiar, its the exact changer she had faced months prior at Wythburn Mill. How did it get here she doesn't know, but she does know that this time she will get rid of it and will not let any more of her friends get swallowed up by it again.
