Jaydes x Rapids...

Chapter 1: Angst

Waking up in a hurry, I put on my clothes and get in my car. I end up at my job late, later to get scolded by my boss.
My name is Rapids. I'm 23 years old, I live in Broward, Florida. My life isn't too interesting.

I work at McDonald's, as a part time job, just to be up-to-date with my bills. I live in a small apartment complex, and own a Honda 2005; I don't use my car for anything else other than going to work - the city is boring.

Today is simply a normal work day for me, casual customers coming in and heading out, the normal rude customers once every 2 hours. Nothing different.
Then suddenly, I see someone come in, followed by 2 others...
Jaydes.
My top enemy from high school - we had every class together, and glared at eachother with hatred every chance possible. This was because of our history as ex-bestfriends. I knew his family, his friends and even his distant family - he knew mine too; we grew up together in Broward.
All of this changed when he met Yuke, a guy from NYC. It was like Jaydes had replaced me so easily, even after everything we went through together. Every one of our memories. It sparked a self-defense mechanism inside of me, and I distanced myself ever since - avoiding both, even after we graduated.
It didn't mean much to me, but i'll never forgive him for treating me so wrong.

Jaydes approached the counter, and seemed to recognise me at first sight. He looked deeply at me, and softly spoke in a questioning manner,
"Rapids?"
