Two hours later the fighting was over and the captain was looking for his men. Jamie and he had  gotten separated and he had saw no sign of him. There were bodies everywhere, some injured, most  dead. More than once Killian found himself knelt down by a pirate with dark dreads holding his breath. His hat had fallen somewhere in battle so he refused to move the hair out of his eyes or look up.

"Captain." He heard the familiar voice call out from him. He turned and seen Amara walking towards him. Killian raised his head and moved the fallen hair. Amara knew who he really was. Jamie, Amara, Odessa, they were the only ones he didn't have to hide from. "Anyone with you?" Killian asked taking in her blood soaked clothes and bruised face. She shook her head.

Killian let out a loud sigh before walking towards the back of the tavern. He wasn't sure how deep the kings guard had made it but clearly the bar was a dead end. Amara followed close behind with a death grip on her sword. They stepped over bodies of girls and half naked men. "What a way to die." Killian snickered. "Apparently, it's a bad day to get off." Said a shaky voice from behind them.

Killian spun around quickly to find Jamie leaning against the wall. He was holding his stomach while his back leaned on the wall and his legs shook trying to hold him up. "Jamie." Amara spoke first running over and helping him sit on the floor. Killian took in his bloodied clothing and pale face. Jamie's hair was matted with blood and his face was covered with more. When their eyes met it knocked the breath out of him. He had seen Jamie cut, burned and broken many times and every time it happened he felt his heart race.

"Stop looking at me like I'm going to die." Jamie said with a breathy chuckle "It will take more than a lucky solider to kill me." Killian felt himself smile. If Jamie was making his usual snippy comments than he wasn't to bad. "Jamie, move your arm so I can look." Amara was saying. The captain went over and kneeled down beside them as she lifted the blood soaked shirt. The gash across his stomach was letting out a steady stream of blood. They would have to close it soon, he was losing way to much blood. "Fire." Jamie groan out.

They both looked up at him in disbelief. Sometimes on the ship they ran out of things to stitch up deep wounds and took to burning the flesh to stop the bleeding. Jamie wore many scars from that but this would be across his whole stomach. "Jamie." Killian said but when he met his eyes there was no use in speaking his worries. He only nodded and gave Amara his sword telling her to light a fire upstairs in his mothers room and set the blade in. He watched her leave before taking Jamie's face in his hands and laying his forehead against the other boys.

"You scared me." Jamie spoke low "I couldn't find you." It was like hearing his own thoughts coming to life. "I was looking for you, you idiot." Killian said letting out a small chuckle "I lost my hat." It felt stupid to say but Killian needed to keep Jamie talking. He didn't know why but something told him that if Jamie stopped then he would be gone. "I like when I can see your eyes." Jamie said running a blood soaked hand over his cheek. "Let's get you upstairs, you're becoming delirious." Killian chuckled and started to get up.

"K, um...you know..in case this doesn't...I just...um..." Jamie stammered, looking down, as the other boy bent down and helped pull him up. "You too, Jamie." Killian said placing a quick peck on the side of his temple "Always." I love you, three words that they both only saved for when they were on their deathbeds. Killian had only made the proclamation once while Jamie had twice.

Before they started walking Killian leaned Jamie back against the wall and shrugged his coat off before he yanked his own shirt off. "One last fuck before I bleed out? How sweet." Jamie said with a breathy chuckle. "Fuck off." Killian shot back balling the shirt up and placing it against Jamie's open wound. Killian pulled his coat back on and pulled Jamie against him, allowing him to lean against him as the walked back through the bar.
