Chapter 6

A/N: Now, I think I will shift the perspective of the story back to Alejo. Partly to check up on him again. I hope you enjoy Chapter 6.

Alejo's perspective:

"Hey Alejo esperate pues!" said Gumecindo. He was heavily panting as he caught up to Alejo on the track. 

Alejo and Gumecindo were running laps in their P.E. class. 

"Man, you're just too slow Gumecindo", I laughed.

"Well, I'm just a slow runner that's all. You know you're better at P.E. than me Alejo", stated Gumecindo.

"Well I like to do exercise, it helps me cool down from a bit of the stress about college and applications and looking towards the future..." I started to spiral for a moment.

"Hey relax man, it will be all right. I mean, you got help from the counselor and you finished the whole process right?", he asked

I sighed, "Kind of, I've almost finished the process with the financial aid, but we still have to finish the process for applying to local colleges and universities as well".

"Hmmm, at least you're almost done man, chin up, you already know where to go to get help, and who to help you out with your college applications too", Gumecindo patted him in the back.

"Yeah, you're right, thanks man" I smiled.

"Oh yeah, I know something that will make you feel better from all your college stuff going on right now!" Gumecindo smiled excitedly.

I looked at him with a confused expression "Que, que paso?".

He grinned and pulled out his phone to show me a picture of a flyer, "Mira, there's going to be a cool party with our school and Harbor High school. There's going to be food, games, music and who knows maybe you could find someone to get over that girl you fell for years ago. Estrella, that was her name I think."

I blushed bright red, "What?? How do you know that?" I asked embarrassed and confused.

He smiled, "Well, it seemed kind of obvious how you spent more and more time with her, and the way you looked at her back at los campos. You looked so happy and dreamy like, I bet you reallllly wanted to give her some big kiss man." He started laughing his head off.

At this point I blushed as bright as a tomato, "Man, seriously??? No, I- it's just... I don't even know what happened after that incident at los campos. Also, I don't think it would worth giving too much thought since what if she doesn't feel the same way about me anymore. Or she could have moved on and fallen in love for someone else, un hombre que ella ama mas que mi... No se Gumecindo...

He sighed and patted my shoulder, "Mira Alejo, it will be fun I promise if not we'll do something else next time and you get to choose". 

I smiled back at him, "Okay man, so when is this party going to be then?"

He stated, "Oh it's going to be this Saturday at 7pm here at our school where the students from Harbor high will arrive too".

I thought for a moment, "Wait, do we have to work this Saturday? Check the schedule Gumecindo".

He checked the schedule on his phone and grinned "Nope, we're off for the day, I guess we can relax this Saturday for the mixer at school".

"Nice, we should just check in with abuela about it before we go this Saturday" I said.

"Yeah, you're right, just to make sure".

"HEY! ALEJO! GUMECINDO! Keep running, both of you still have five more laps to do! Mr, Watkins shouted.

Both of us shouted in unison "YES SIR!". Then we finished running our laps and headed back to meet with everyone.

"Oh and Alejo, I think we'll probably meet up with my freind Maria, she's from Harbor High. I think she told me she will be coming this Saturday to the mixer. She also told me that she would be bringing her best friend with her; maybe she can introduce her to you and you know... maybe you can move on from Estrella". 

"Hmmm, I don't know, but we'll see. Ella es la unica que mi corazon late, mi Estrella..." I smiled sadly.

He shook his head at me, "Alejo, you really love her huh?

I smiled and looked at him with conviction. "Si, la amo con todo mi corazon".

A/N: Hmmm, who knows how Alejo will feel once he sees Maria's best friend? Maybe he will tell her how he really feels..... Thank you everyone for reading this chapter, despite it being a bit brief, I hope to make the next chapter a bit longer.
