A/N: This shall focus on the perspective of Estrella, and focus in mostly on her in this chapter. I hope all of you enjoy this chapter, here we go! I will also see if I can add pictures of both Alejo and Estrella's outfits for the mixer, to get an idea of what they will wear.
Estrella's perspective:
I arrived home after I helped pick up my younger siblings from their school and laid down on my bed thinking about the mixer this Saturday. Hmmm, it does seem to sound fun, I would hang out with my best friend the whole time and sort of distract myself from.... him.
I sighed, well I still have to ask Petra and Perfecto later when they come home if I can go to the mixer this Saturday. I hope they will let me, at least I can say I have finished all my schoolwork for the week. So, for homework I am completely finished. But, I think I don't really have anything to wear as well for the mixer. Mostly a couple of t-shirts, pants and small shorts. Nothing fancy or fit for a special occasion for me to use for this Saturday. Hmmmm...
Ding.
I checked my phone and Maria sent me a message,
Estrella: Hasta luego Maria!
Suddenly I heard the front door open with Perfecto and Petra entering inside. "Estrella?
I got up and headed to help my mother "Ay vengo ma", I smiled as I helped along with my younger siblings unload the groceries and house supplies.
Perfecto walked stiffly as he moved from side to side in the house. "Cosa del Diablo, creo que me estoy poniendo muy viejo para esto", he groaned as he slumped on the couch in the living room.
Hmmmm, maybe work really was difficult for them. "¿Como estas del trabajo ma? I smiled as she also seemed quite tired.
I looked back at her, "Que bueno ma, pero te quiero hablar de algo..." I stood stiffly unsure to tell her or not.
She looked at me with a confused expression, "¿Que pasa mija, estas bien?", Petra asked.
I looked in her eyes, "Me puedes dejar ir en este baile el Sabado?
She thought for a moment, "El Sabado? Bueno, creo que el Sabado descansamos nosotros, entonces creo que si puedes ir si quieres Estrella", she smiled at me.
I smiled and hug my mother back in return, "Muchas gracias ma!"
She hugged me back, "Nomas recuerdate de no llegar muy tarde, ¿esta bien?
I nodded, "Okay ma", I immediatley texted Maria about the good news.
I smiled and could not wait my excitement until Saturday night for the dance at Santa Cruz high school. Me and Maria are going to have so much fun!
The Next day:
After school ended me and Maria walked to the nearest shopping center a couple of blocks away from our school. Partly because I wanted to look for a nice dress, I brought my stash of money I've been storing for a while now. I hope I can find a good one, one that will catch my eye while not being too far out of my pocket money.
"¿Estrella, que tipo de vestido quieres?", she asked with a puzzled expression.
I smiled softly at her, "Si, te puedo ayudar si quieres".
We arrived at this small shop filled with countless dresses with a variety of colors and different styles available in many sizes. As we entered, our eyes filled with stars as we squealed for a bit.
I looked at Maria, "Se miran maravillosos, no se cual escoger", I smiled with excitement.
Almost two hours have passed as we looked through a variety of dresses, and tried them on. We felt unsure at first which one would feel 'just the right one', the perfect one for the occasion. In the end, I decided on a black dress, decorated with sunflowers across the velvet fabric. It felt amazing, and very soft. Maria chose a dark blue mixed with purple on the bottom for her own dress.
I can't wait until the dance this Saturday, I have my dress ready and I have permission to go too. All I have to do is wait patiently until then.
