Chapter 2

Kakashi landed in someone's arms, he opened his eyes. He didn't even realize he closed them. He saw Minato blonde hair and blue eyes.

"What were you doing so high in the tree? You just got out of the hospital, " he scolded Kakashi as he held him on his hip. 'Just because I'm small doesn't mean they need to carry me on their hip' he thought to himself. He caught himself staring at Minato for a long time before he made himself look away.

"I was just thinking. You can set me down, I can walk" Kakashi said as he tried to push away from him.

" Nuh uh I think I'll carry you. You might run off again. You really made your mom and dad worried, They just got you back" he said. Minato was always good at pointing out facts and making a person feel bad for it. Kakashi huffed and a pout could be seen through his mask. Minato summoned a small red frog.

" Hi Kōsuke, can you go on ahead and tell Sakumo and Orochimaru that I found Kakashi." He told the frog who went on ahead of them. The walk back to Kakashi place was short since Minato had longer strides as he walked.

Sakumo was waiting on the porch when they got into the yard. Kakashi saw relief wash over his fathers face which made him feel bad. ' I don't want to lie to him, he can always see right through me. I'll settle on half truths then.' He thought.

"Pup why did you run off?" He said as he stepped off the porch and over to them. Kakashi held a fist full of Minato shirt.

" I'm sorry papa, I h-had to think. I have been so confused since the m-men took me, I have memories of another me. I-I was older, I grew up without you and mama together then you died. Sensei and my teammates were d-died too, it felt so real. Nothing makes sense" Kakashi rambled as he felt tears prick his eyes and he started to cry. Normally something like this wouldn't make him cry but being in this body, his emotions felt all over the place.

"Genjutsu, maybe, he should talk with Inoichi. I never heard of a genjutsu that gives someone memories. He was gone for five months, who knows what they did. " Minato said as Sakumo took Kakashi in his arms and rubbed his back, trying to calm him down. Kakashi clings to his dad and hides his face in his neck.

"Right, I'll get in touch with him soon. Do you want to come in for tea? We were thinking about inviting Obito and Rin for dinner but I don't think he's up for visitors." Sakumo said as he bounced Kakashi trying to settle him down as they entered the house. Orochimaru was setting a tea tray on the coffee table. 'This is so embarrassing. Why can't I stop crying?' Kakashi thought as he hiccuped and he could feel his dads shirt get wet with his tears. Sakumo sat down on the couch with Kakashi in his lap, he shushed him softly and whispered comforting words as he rubbed his back. He finally calmed down but he continued to lay his head against Sakumo's shoulder as his eyes felt heavy, he shortly fell asleep cuddled up against Sakumo.

Sakumo noticed that Kakashi's breathing even out and he grew heavy in his arms. He ran his fingers through his hair, he wanted to stay like this for a while. Having Kakashi missing for five months was the worst thing he ever experienced, he was so glad he made it home to them. He glanced up at his mate, Orochimaru was taking in the scene as he sipped his tea.

"What this, I hear about genjutsu when you came in?" He asked as his sharp stare ran over both Sakumo and Minato.

" Kakashi said that he has memories of him being older and some of us are d-dead." Sakumo let out a whine at the thought of his pup growing up alone. Orochimaru leaned closer to him as ran his fingers through his hair, scratching his scalp a little. He knew that it calmed him down, a habit that was passed onto Kakashi too.

" I'll make an appointment with Inoichi, maybe he can figure out what kind of genjutsu was used. If anyone can find out it would be him. He has the aura around him that gets people talking" Orochimaru said as they leaned their head on his shoulder. They normally wasn't one to show affection around other people but Minato is part of their little family since Jiraiya took him under his wing.

All three men tensed as a presence came up to the house, then there was a knock on the door. Orochimaru got up and answered the door, it was a Hokage messenger.

"Orochimaru-same and Sakomu-sama. Hokage-sama would like you in his office. He has a mission for you" the messenger said before shunshin away. Salome growled at the thought of leaving Kakashi so soon, which made Kakashi whine and shift a little in his sleep. ' maybe if I explain to the Hokage. He would send someone. No he has to send someone else because I'm not going,' he said as he got up from the couch and took Kakashi to their room. He came back to the living room, Orochimaru had his shoes on and was watching by the door for him.

"Would you mind staying here until one of us comes back?" Sakumo asked Minato, who agreed instantly.

" Yes, no problem. If anything happens I'll send a toad." Minato said as he waved them off.

Kakashi woke up to his father's scent mixed with moss and rosemary, they combined was surprisingly nice together. He woke up seeing he was in his fathers room. Not much has changed beside Orochimaru, having his stuff in the room too. He sat up and went to go sniff to see where his father and Orochimaru were but his nose was still stuffy from crying. He got out of the bed quietly and crept out, he noticed Minato was in the kitchen making something. He made sure his footsteps were silent as he made his way to his room. He closed the door quietly and went over to his desk pulling out a journal. He wrote out all he could remember from his timeline before working on what he knew about this one.

Dad and Orochimaru are a couple.
Danzo had men kidnapped me.
I'm six. Am I a Genin or a Chūnin?
Is there Kakashi, a brat like I was as a kid?

He heard hurried footsteps down the hall and he closed his journal and hid it under some other journals. Minato knocked on the door before opening it.

" Oh good. I'm glad you're here. You worried me when you weren't in your dads room. I bet you're hungry. I made your favorite, eggplant pasta. " Minato said as he left the door opened as he went to the dining room. Kakashi followed him, the smell of food made his stomach growl. He didn't notice how hungry he was until the smell hit his nose.

" Thank you. Where are papa and Orochimaru?" he asked as he sat at the table and dug into his food quickly, missing the look Minato gave him when he didn't call Orochimaru mama.

"The Hokage needed them. One of them should be back soon. Slow down you'll choke and make yourself sick " Minato said as he leaned over and put his hand over Kakashi to make him stop shoving food in his mouth. ' Are they going on a mission? That would work out for me. I need to find out more information but their hovering is getting in the way' he thought and the childish part of him didn't want them to leave. Minato chatted enough for the both of them.
