The plane bumped noisily as it hit the runway. Jessie looked over as the little girl next to her, jumped in fear and grabbed on to her hand. She squeezed her hand tightly.

"Don't worry sweety the plane is just landing."

The five-year-old girl nodded but didn't let go of her hand. Jessie let her eyes wander to the bright pink cast covering the girl's arm. Jessie had only met her about a week ago, but she loved the little girl dearly. Her name was Addie. Her and her mom had been in a horrible car accident two weeks ago. Addie had been injured badly, breaking her arm and bruising her ribs. Her mom hadn't made it. Jessie was a social worker; she was bringing Addie to live with her five older brothers in Los Angeles. Jessie didn't know the particulars of this family, but she had spoken with the oldest brother on the phone. She hoped this would be good for the little angel. She would be checking in regularly to be sure.

When the plane finally stopped moving Jessie grabbed her suitcase and Addie's backpack.

"Are you ready to go?" She asked.

Addie nodded, "Are my brothers going to be nice?" She asked.

"Of course they will be." Jessie said, "And if they aren't you call me, ok?"

Addie nodded, she hugged a stuffed horse she had affectionately named Sparkles to her chest.

They disembarked and looked around trying to find her brothers. The issue was neither had ever met them and they didn't know what they looked like. Jessie wasn't sure what to do. She was starting to panic when she saw a bright pink sign decorated with lots of stickers and glitter, that said, Welcome Home Addie!!!!!!

Addie laughed when she saw it and Jessie smiled. The girl didn't laugh enough lately. They walked up to find five men holding up the sign. Addie suddenly shy hid behind Jessie's legs.

"Are you the Conners brothers?" Jessie asked.

A boy with black hair the same color of Addie's stepped forward "Yes we are, I'm Aiden Conners we spoke on the phone."

Jessie shook his hand, "It's nice to meet you in person. This is Addie."

Aiden smiled and squatted down next to Addie. "Hello Addie, I'm Aiden your big brother."

Addie peaked out from behind Jessie. "Hiya." She said quietly.

"Who's this?" Adien asked pointing to her horse.

"This is Sparkles." She said proudly. "He's a very brave horse. He was sad when mommy went to heaven, but he's being brave."

Jessie's heart broke as she listened to Addie.

"That is very brave." Adien agreed solemnly. "You want to know something?" He leaned in closer like he was telling a secret. "You're really brave to."

Addie smiled and came more fully out from behind Jessie.

"Do you want to meet the rest of your brothers?" He asked.

Addie nodded, Adien picked her up and turned to the other four boys who were waiting patiently.

"Addie, these are your brothers, Hudson, Jordan, Asher, and Jesse."

The boys all said hello. and smiled at Addie.

She took a deep breath as if to calm herself, and started pointing to each of the boys, "Adien, Udson, Jordman, Ashy, and Jessie." She frowned. "Isn't Jessie a girl's name?"

Jesse turned bright red, and the other boys laughed.

"It can be both sweety." Jessie said trying to contain her smile. "Mr. Conner if I could speak to you for a minute privately, I have some things we need to discuss."

Adien nodded, handed Addie off the Hudson, and led Jessie a little way away from the others.

"What did we need to discuss?" Adien asked, "We covered all the paperwork already."

"I just need to know some basics about your family and the living situation I'll be putting her into. She's been through a lot; she doesn't need more."

Adien nodded seeming to understand that this wasn't technically part of her job she just needed to know for her own sake.

"It's just us five living at home. I supposed you'd want to know that we all share the same father, but we have no idea where he is. He left about five years ago, and we don't want him to come back. Me and Hudson are the oldest at 25 and 24 we take care of everyone. We both work at the local hospital along with Jordan who's 20."

"Do any of you go to school?" Jessie asked.

"Hudson and Jordan are both in college. Asher and Jesse are only sixteen so they're still in high school."

Jessie was silent for a minute while Adien studied her.

"I'm guessing what you actually want to know is if we're in any debt. No, we're not. I make more than enough to pay for schooling for all of my brothers. We're not in debt with any cars or our house either if that's what you're going to ask next."

Jessie blushed a little but didn't back down. "I noticed you didn't mention going to school, Mr. Conners how do you make enough money with no schooling?"

Adien laughed.

"What?" Jessie asked confused.

"Sorry, I'm just not used to people not recognizing me. I'm already graduated from college. I invented a machine that copies tissue and multiplies it it's used in local hospitals and slowly becoming worldwide."

"It does what?" Jessie asked.

"Basically, it heals people, faster and in ways that weren't possible before. Like if you lose your leg, my machine can replicate it. Muscles, nerves, skin, everything. Hospitals around the world also send me machines to fix. I get paid well for that. But none of this is important, the point is Addie will be safe with us. She'll have a good home; we'll make sure of it."

Something in his tone convinced Jessie. "Ok." She said quietly. "Bring her home, I'll check in sometime in the next few weeks and again before she starts school in the fall."

Adien nodded. "We'll take care of her. I promise."

He walked back over to where his brothers were surrounding Addie, giving her looks like she had the plague. How on earth were they going to do this? Meanwhile Addie was raising her arms up to Asher like she wanted to be held. He was staring at her, having no idea what to do with her. Adien walked up behind her and swooped her into his arms, tickling her sides. She burst into giggles.

"Are you ready to go to your new home Addie."

Addie smiled up at him and nodded.
