Once upon a time, there was a great family of Vampires. To the humans they were merely rich humans that had a certain air to them that was quite appealing.. Almost like being in the presence of a god. Although the Vampires of the royal families could appear arrogant and pompous... The truth was... That the Nobles were a hunted breed.. And they had to be very careful as not to give away who they were. Among this family was the young princess Lily-May, her parents, Talia and William... Along with a little brother called Jr. As he was named after his father. Currently the young Lily-May.. Who was nine years old, was playing around the mansion with her best friend Valryn... Who was twelve. They were playing hide and seek.
Valryn had the good fortune to be part of the Duskbrooke family line. Though the name changed from the Italian line Torrente a century ago to hide themselves, Alessia and Mattia were no less proud of their heritage. Vampire Nobles traditionally bore multiple children to safekeep their line, and Alessia had given Mattia three children. Syras, Valryn, and Breony. Between each child was a large age gap, with Breony being the youngest. Syras was already integrating into society, having turned eighteen.
Valryn had been said to be a potential heartbreaker when he was still a little boy. Only twelve by a handful of days, he had been the subject of a large celebration that he didn't quite understand. His parents had spent the last few days secluded with other adult vampires, but that didn't mean anything to him.
Now he sat crouched on the balcony railing, looking out around the immediate area. Deathly silent, he reached back to pull his hair into a short ponytail. Eventually, Lily-May would give herself away if he couldn't find her, but he was giving it a good attempt this time.

He heard a shrill scream as Lily-May ran out of a bush in hysterics. "Valryn!! Snakkeee!!!" She screamed. She may be a vampire, but she was still a little girl. "Valryn! Valryn!!"
Quickly Sir Kuraun come out, Lily-May's father. "Honey.. What ever is the matter?" He said catching her in a hug. "Snake! In the bushes a snake!" She clung onto him. "Is that really all?" He chuckled. "Come on inside, let's find Valryn.. We can set up a game of chess for you... Sound like fun?" He kissed her cheek. She nodded smiling. "Snack?" She asked hopefully. "Of course you can have a snack! My big girl!" He laughed scrunching his nose in such a charming way when he smiled. He carried her inside. Got Valryn along with a Chess board and pieces...
"Sir Kuraun!" Someone called "coming!" He replied. "You can go ahead in the fridge and both get yourselves a blood pack. Behave ok?" He smiled before walking out.
Valryn heard the screams and run for the stairs inside, hopped onto the railing, and slid down the bannister as quick as he could. He very nearly collided with Sir Kuraun, instead tripping and landing on his rump a few feet away.
