Yuri stood outside the venue, heart racing like it had just run a marathon. The massive poster of Bangtan Seonyeondan looming over her felt almost surreal. Somewhere behind those walls, the members she had idolized and watched for years were waiting to meet fans like her-actual human beings who loved them just as much as she did. Her hands trembled as she clutched the carefully crafted fan sign that she had spent the entire week decorating. The bright colors and glitter made the inscription stand out: "Min Yoongi, you dangerous man! Take responsibility!""Why did they have to make the wait so long?" she mumbled under her breath, glancing around at the other fans, who were similarly eager and bubbling with anticipation. Some girls were cosplaying as their favorite members, while others held handmade banners. The energy in the air was electric, and yet, Yuri felt a mix of nerves and excitement churning in her stomach.
Suddenly, a gentle push from behind startled her. She turned to see a girl about her age, her ponytail swinging as she rushed past. "Sorry!" the girl called out, beaming with excitement. "I just can't wait to see them!"
As the minutes ticked by, Yuri's thoughts drifted to Yoongi. He was everything-his deep voice, his killer rap verses, and his endearing quirks that made her laugh even on the gloomiest days. His unique charm and charisma were like a magnet, pulling her deeper into the world of K-Pop. She remembered watching videos of him during dance practices, casually nailing every move with that signature smirk-a look that somehow made her heart do an accelerated double beat.
She shook her head, trying to dispel the daydreams that clouded her mind. "Focus, Yuri!" she chastised herself. "It's not like he's going to notice you or anything!"
Yet, a small part of her wished he would-the thought of eye contact, however fleeting, made her cheeks warm. And then the moment she had been waiting for finally arrived. The doors swung open, and the crowd surged forward, her heart pounding in sync with the thrum of excitement.
Inside, the lights were bright, and the stage was set with an aura of glamour. There they were-Bangtan Seonyeondan-sitting at a long table adorned with flowers and glittering lights. The sight of them sent her heart into overdrive. There was RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, all looking as handsome and charismatic as ever. But Yuri's gaze was fixated on Yoongi, who lounged with an effortless coolness that only he could pull off.
"Breathe, Yuri! You got this!" she murmured, determined to keep her composure as she moved closer to the front of the line. As it got nearer to her turn, she thought back to her best friend Mira's advice: "When you see him, just tell him how you feel. Don't overthink it!"
Before she knew it, she was standing in front of the table, and her heart threatened to leap from her chest. Yoongi looked up, meeting her gaze, and Yuri felt like the ground had fallen away. His silver hair framed his face perfectly, and those brown eyes seemed to pierce right through her. It was too much-the magnetic pull of his presence was overwhelming.
"Hi...," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. The rest of the world faded away.
"Hey," he replied, a casual smile pulling at his lips. That grin sent her heart racing even faster. "What's your name?"
"Y-Yuri," she managed, fighting the urge to freeze like a deer in headlights. "I-I just wanted to say that I love your music, and you inspire me so much."
"Thank you, Yuri! That means a lot," he replied, his voice soothing as if he truly appreciated her words. "How long have you been a fan?"
"Since... I don't know, forever?" she laughed nervously, feeling a bit more at ease. "But seriously, you're amazing, like a dangerous man with a hidden soft side."
"Well, you have a way with words," he teased, eyebrows raised, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes.
The laugh that escaped her was unintentional, a mix of nervousness and genuine joy. "Min Yoongi, you dangerous man! You wear me out! Take responsibility! I WILL SUE YOU, MIN YOONGI!" She blurted, regretting the spontaneous outburst as embarrassment flooded her cheeks. What on earth had she just said?
The other members snickered, delighting in her boldness, and Yoongi chuckled, a rich sound that sent butterflies spiraling in her stomach. "Well, I guess I'll have to take that into consideration," he said, that trademark grin illuminating his face.
Yuri's heart soared. For those brief moments, nothing else mattered-no insecurities, no doubts, just the hum of happiness. She made a mental note to tell Mira later how she had successfully expressed her feelings, albeit in the wildest way possible.
As she took her picture with him, their hands brushed for just a moment, and what felt like an eternity of electricity coursed through her body. Then, just like that, she was back on the other side of the table, laughing and feeling lighter than air.
Stepping away, she couldn't believe it. "Oh my god! I actually talked to him!" she exclaimed to herself, skipping out into the hallway with a grin plastered on her face. It didn't matter whether he remembered her or not; in that moment, she felt seen.
With the chaotic energy of the fan meeting swirling in her chest, she couldn't help but wonder what other adventures lay ahead. Little did she know, this was just the beginning.
