~Eastern Entrance to the Central City~

~8:12 AM~

"C'mon!" a Military Brigade soldier yelled. "Hurry up!"

"Stop shovin', ya asshole!" Ádomás yelled back. "We're goin'!"

Nighthawk 1 was being escorted through the back alleyways of the Central City towards the Eastern Entrance, the emperor's dumping site for the banished. One could tell by the lighting that it was around eight in the morning, just after the rebellion. The walk was long and the Brigade didn't take vehicles so they wouldn't draw attention to the parading group. There were many thoughts going through everyone's minds during this long walk. Some were happy, some were pissed, some were indifferent. To everyone, it was a difficult and trying time. The oversized walls of the Eastern Entrance loomed near, signaling the start of a new era. All the while, Raya was unconscious and being dragged by a couple of Brigade soldiers.

"How much longer?" one Brigade soldier said.

"Not long," another replied. "About 10 minutes, tops."

"Mmm," someone said.

"Oh, come on, that's too damn long."

"Nnnngh," it came from the same person.

"Hey, I think Raya's wakin' up," the second Brigade soldier said. "Set her down, real quick."

"Ah," Raya quietly called. "Ow."

"Are you alright?" This soldier was the spy that Raya sent. The two were also childhood friends, so he felt obligated to care for her. No response came from the young woman on the ground. He sighed and urged everyone to keep going.

The escort finally made it to the gate, yet it was already crowded. Apparently allies, friends, and family of the Resistance were to be banished too. Such a tragic sight being illuminated by such beautiful morning sunlight made this even more upsetting. Innocent women, men, and even children were being forced out of their homes. Juan, who was cuffed, walked around taking in the scene. He sympathized with everyone there, even the Brigade soldiers who knew that the Emperor was in the wrong, yet were too scared to do anything. A young pixie flew past, as if looking for someone, looking out the open gate every now and then. Juan wished he could help, but knew he couldn't. He knew he shouldn't given the circumstances. He looked around for his family, spotting them close to the gate. The only one who wasn't there... Was his father.

"Juan," his mother said. "We..."

"Where's Father?" he asked quietly. "Mama... Where is he?"

"Ju, I... I'm sorry," his mother said, getting up to hug him as tightly as she could. "I'm so sorry."

"Mama, what happened?" Juan's voice was shaking at this point. He knew what happened, but he wanted to confirm it. He wanted to know how, he wanted to know why...

Ádomás was walking towards Juan when he saw what was happening. He knew by the family's faces that someone they loved dearly passed. All he could do was stand and watch from afar, even though his heart willed him to do more. Ádomás turned to his left and saw Raya limping his way, supported by the Brigade spy. The wounded captain released herself from the soldier's grasp and started running to Juan. The elven soldier went to support her before she could fall.

"Ádomás," Raya rasped. "What's wrong? What happened to Juan? Let me go to him."

"Raya, don't," he said. He turned quickly to reassess the scene, replying to the captain when he realized. "Juan's father died."

The mentioned started to cry harder when his mother told him the whole story. It was so overwhelming to the point that he collapsed onto the ground. When Ádomás and Raya saw this, they finally caved and ran over, wanting to comfort the young soldier. When they got there, Juan was sobbing uncontrollably. Everyone there knew they were powerless to stop it.

BAM, BAM!

Gunshots rang throughout the air, followed by a deep and loud voice.

"Alright, everyone!" it yelled. The voice, which belonged to a man of large stature, came closer as he talked. "Reunions over, it's time to move. Out the gate!"

"Raya, here," someone said. The called turned and saw the spy she dispatched into the Emperor's Military Brigade. "Keep this with you at all times. Ok?" The spy ran off before Raya could ask what she had been given. "Move, now!"
