BETHANY'S POV
It was me and Will's third anniversary. I didn't want anything to go wrong, so I wrote out a list of everything that was supposed to happen, from the wait times in line for the rides and when we eat and everything.
"Isn't this a little over the top, Beth?" Cole asks.
"No! It is not! It's perfectionism! And Will deserves nothing less than perfect!" I retort. So it's a wonder why he's dating me....
"You are way too in love with that guy," he says.
"Cole, you may be my brother, but you're his best friend. You said you supported us!"
"I do! I just don't want you to get hurt."
"Would Will ever hurt me, no, so don't worry about it!"
"Okay. See you tonight," he says, kissing my cheek.
"Actually, Will told me to spend the night at his place tonight," I say.
"Alright, just don't do anything stupid."
"I am offended you think so low of me and Will. We would never do anything like that."
"I know. I know. Get going already." I smile and kiss his cheek and leave. I drive to his house and see him waiting on the porch. He gets in the passenger side of the car.
"Hey." He kisses me.
"Hi. You weren't waiting too long, were you?"
"No. I just wanted a little fresh air," he says and he takes a deep breath. I notice his hands shaking.
"Are you okay? You're shaking?"
"Oh. I'm fine. Just anxious," he says and I smile.
"Okay. Let's go!"
The whole car ride, he tries to force out of me where we are going.
"Will! I am not going to tell you, but I promise you will love it!"
He sighs. "Are we at least close?" he whines.
"Yes! We're close! Now quit complaining before I turn around!" I scold and his eyes widen. He shrinks down a little in his seat. As we come across a red light, I lean over and kiss him quickly.
"I love you," he breathes longingly, as if he wants me to kiss him again.
"I love you, too, now put this on," I say and hand him a blindfold.
"Bethany!" he whines. I laugh as he regretfully puts on his blindfold.
"I feel like our roles should be reversed," I say.
"It won't be later," he mumbles to himself.
"Huh?"
"O-oh. N-nothing," he says, blushing.
"Okay! We're here!"
"Yay! So I can take this off!"
"No!" I say in the same excited tone. He pouts and I giggle at him.
I walk over to his door and help him out of the car. We walk to the ticket lady upfront.
"Welcome to-" I cut her off by shushing her and I point to Will. She nods and smiles.
"Welcome!" she winks at me. I hand her our tickets and she smiles.
"Have a very nice time," she says and she lets me take Will through the section they have for handicap people so he doesn't have to use the weird bar thing to get in. I walk him right in front of Cinderella's Castle and face him toward it. I slowly remove his blindfold and shove it into my pocket. He blinks a few times so his eyes adjust, then he beams and looks at me.
"You brought me to Disneyland!?"
"Yep!"
"Oh, baby I love you so much!" he says as he dips me down and kisses me.
"You two should consider working here!" Cinderella says, walking over with Prince Charming.
"Maybe we should!" we both say excitedly, looking at each other. We both giggle in response.
"We'll get out of your way," I say and start to leave. Will starts to talk to Prince Charming as if they are old friends. He talks for a while and nods in my direction occasionally. The Prince smiles and nods.
"I promise," I see him mouth. I shake my head to pretend nothing happened, but I know it'll be on my mind all day.
I pull out my schedule slightly so he doesn't notice and take him to Splash Mountain. We do Spider-Man, Pirates of the Caribbean, eat, then do Stitch, the African Animal tour thing, then eat again because I'm with Will, then we ride Space Mountain. As the camera approaches while we turn the corner, I lean back and he leans forward so our faces are right next to each other. He kisses my cheek as I pretend to be surprised. After the ride is over, we look at our picture and decide to buy it. I am about to buy two copies when he says:
"Only get one copy."
"Why? You don't want one?"
"Um... I-If you have it at your house, then I'll have an excuse to come over more often," he says. I pretend I didn't notice his stutter and buy one copy, while I hear him sigh in relief. He looks at the time on his phone and looks a little worried.
"Fireworks?" he asks me really anxiously.
"O-okay," I stutter. We walked outside and it was dark, so my teeth slightly chattered, plus, it isn't on our schedule, but he looked so cute begging me to see the fireworks now.
"Here," he says and hands me his jacket.
"Thanks," I say and wrap it over my shoulders. He leads me through the crowd. It starts getting colder, so I put the jacket all the way on. We stand in front of Cinderella's Castle once again and Prince Charming winks at Will. That's what they were talking about.
"Beth?" he asks. That's weird only members of my family call me Beth. I shove my hands in his jacket pockets and see him digging around in his jeans for something. I feel something small in his jacket pocket, so I curiously pull it out. I stand in shock and awe at the little velvet box.
"Will?" I barely manage a whisper, but he somehow hears it over the crowd. He looks up at me and sees what's in my hand.
"Oh. It was in my jacket....."
"Will?" He takes the box and turns it around in my palm. He opens it.
"I love you," he says as I stare at the beautiful ring. He gets down on one knee.
"Will you marry me?" I tear up and nod, not trusting my voice, and he stands up, hugging me, spinning me around. He sets me down and kisses me as the fireworks start, and the crowd begins cheering, not for the display of lights.
They were cheering for us.
