Cole
It was the middle of the day, and you were swamped with work at your job. The last thing you needed was another thing to do.
It's that time of the year, that time of the year, when everybody's feeling very merry.
"What is it Cole?" you snapped into the phone, needing to get back to your work.
"Can't I call my beautiful, stressed, girlfriend to tell her I love her?"
"What did you do?"
"Nothing...... I just need a little help....."
"Can this please wait until my shift is over? My boss is breathing down my neck to get this done and if I don't......" you trailed off, whispering into the receiver as you glanced at your boss who was glaring at you from behind.
"Darling, I say this now because I'm losing feeling in my legs. Please come home."
"Honey, are you okay?" you asked, but got no reply. Worried, you left work and raced home, frantically searching for your key to open the door. Finally the key turned and you opened the door, only to see your dashing boyfriend give you an embarrassed smile, a blush growing on his skin. The wires and lights were tangled in impossible knots around his entire body, only his face and feet showing, a few fingers sticking out near his hips.
"I left work, on our busiest day yet, because you got buried in Christmas decorations?" you asked, trying to sound angry, but ending up laughing at him.
"I just wanted to surprise you. I know you've been really stressed lately and......" He looked down, not wanting you to meet his nervous gaze. "I ruined it." You kissed his cheek and smiled.
"I'm going to make some hot cocoa, then we can put up the decorations together. Okay?" you asked and he nodded. You started to walk into the kitchen when he stopped you.
"Babe? Aren't you forgetting something?" he asked.
"Oh. Right." You pulled out your phone and pulled out a picture, then turned to make the two of you some hot chocolate.
"Hun?" he called. "Darling?" he asked after you didn't respond. "That picture better not end up on social media!" You laughed as you tapped your screen, your boyfriend's dorky picture already being liked by half of the world on Twitter. "Y/N!"
Dana
Dana's mom had called you to help her put up the lights. She wasn't very keen on climbing a ladder, and Dana and his dad were going Christmas shopping together, so she called you for a little assistance.
You blew on your hands to get them a little warmer. You weren't wearing gloves so it'd be easier to put up the lights, and your fingers were numbing because of it.
"I'll go make you some hot cocoa. That should help." His mom went inside, leaving you on the unstable ladder. You decided to work on the lights a little while she was gone. Other people put their lights up on their own, so why couldn't you? You were leaning a little too far to your right when you lost your balance and slipped. You closed your eyes and braced yourself for the impact of the concrete when a pair of arms wrapped around you.
"You just couldn't stand not falling for me again, now could you?" His cheeky voice filled your ears.
"Ha ha ha. Very funny. Now will you stand up before we both slip on the-" You both fell, cutting you off from your sentence. "Ice."
"Graceful as always, babe."
"Thanks, love," you said, kissing his cheek. "Let's go inside before our butts freeze off."
