I feel a tap on my shoulder. "Lacey...wake up sweetheart." a few more taps on my shoulder after that.
I open my eyes slowly and turn my head facing Keaton. I still cant get over his beautiful eyes. He smiles and turns the car off. I sit up a bit looking out the window realizing we're in front of a gigantic mansion.
"We're here!" he gets out of the car and walks over to my side, opening the door and grabbing my suitcases from the backseat. Panic rushes through me. We're here?
I get out of the car quickly and fix my hair and run my hands down my dress making sure I look presentable. I apply another layer of lip gloss and run my fingers through my blonde hair. "We cant possibly be here, I'm here empty handed, do you know how impolite that is? Thats the worst first impression ever Keaton!!" I explain, I know he can hear the panic in my voice.
He puts down my suitcases and faces me, he places a hand on the side of my cheek, caressing my face with his thumb. "There's a flower stand right down the road, do you want to go get some flowers for them, so you won't be empty handed?" he looks at me, expressing his stupid smile.
I sigh and remove his hand from my cheek. "That'll be too much trouble...That'll be just really annoy-" he covers my mouth with his hand.
"Get in the car Lacey, lets go get some flowers sweetheart."
I smile and nod and get back inside the car, I watch Keaton bring my bags to this man in a dark navy suit. the sun reflects off his emerald, green eyes. Keaton shares a few words with him and walks back to the car, I watch the man carry my bags into the house. "Are you sure this is your house? I mean it just looks...huge...like are you absolutely sure it isn't Cinderella's castle?"
He laughs. "I'm pretty sure it isn't a Disney princesses castle. I believe its my childhood home." he smiles and puts the car in drive and starts driving down the hill.
"Are you sure I'm not causing any trou-" I'm interrupted by his hand covering my mouth once again.
"You never shut up, do you princess?"
"You never stop putting your hand on my mouth, do you princess." I snarl back.
He stops and looks at me. "Don't call me that."
"I could say the same thing." I cross my arms and look at him.
He rolls his eyes and goes back to driving, pulling into a parking spot. "You never stop do you?"
I grab my wallet from my purse and unbuckle myself and open the door. "Nope, and never will." I smile innocently at him and shut the car door behind me. I walk up to the the different type of flowers that are placed neatly in a row.
I smell each one and smile. I turn around and spot Keaton walking up to me. "So which flowers do you think your family will like the most, it needs to be something...perfect and elegant. Something that will fit perfectly in a beautiful vase and will sit beautifully in the middle of the dinner table."
He smells a few flowers and walks to another stand, picking up different flowers and looking closely at them. He comes to one flowerpot with blue flowers and smells them and his face softens. "These. These will be perfect." he smiles and smells them one more time.
Never knew someone smelling a flower could be actually hot- no Lacey...don't think about that.
I smile and walk next to him, picking up the pot and smelling it, instantly falling in love with the beautiful smell. "Oh my gosh...this is perfect!" I laugh and smell it once more. "Well, we finally have a flower!" I run over to the lady that works there and follow her to the cash register to pay.
Keaton appears next to me and takes cash out of his wallet quicker than me. "No Keaton, I have money to pay for it-" I take out 10 dollars from my wallet that has lamas on it.
"No need to love, I got it." he puts the 10 dollars back into my wallet and smiles softly at the lady. "Thank you, Mrs. Benders."
The elderly lady smiles. "You're welcome, dear..." she looks over at me. "Well, hello there missy, Keaton, you didn't tell me you had a girlfriend!" she laughs and places a hand on his shoulder.
"Oh...uhm..." I stutter, completely forgetting about our little pretend dating chaos.
He gently squeezes my arm to stop me from talking. "I've been terribly busy traveling and finally seeing the world, guess I completely forgot to show her off." he laughs awkwardly, and I nod, placing manicured hand on top of his also manicured hand.
After talking to the nice old lady, Keaton grabs the pot and takes my hand in his and smiles down at me. "Almost blew our little secret sweetheart." he places the pot in the back of the car making sure it can't spill anywhere.
I roll my eyes and get in the front seat while Keaton get in the driver seat. Then we start driving back up the hill towards the unusually big mansion.
I take one final deep breath and study the house. This is the type of house my dad talked non stop about, the fancy exterior, the fancy marble flooring. He would love it here. I smile and get out of the car and wrap my arm around Keaton's. Flowerpot in my other hand.
"Ready, Princess? I understand if you need more tim-" I interrupt him with a finger to his mouth and I smile. '
"I'm ready. No one goes to a fancy house and lies to someone's family about dating their son...I had to bring something for the show." He laughs and walks towards the house.
squeezing my hand in comfort as he opens the glass door and suddenly the pressure of having to play this dating act fucking perfectly.
I cannot mess this up.
